rebuilding the mn vikings

Post#1 » by shagadelic45 » Tue Jan 3, 2012 2:50 pm

1. trade allen, williams, winfield and ponder for colts #1, #2 and #3. indy keeps manning and fills a bunch of holes and is a superbowl contender for the next 4-5 years.

2. trade adrian peterson to the highest bidder

3. rebuild around luck, harvin and all the draft picks

No way Indy makes that trade.

Allen is a great pass rusher, but no one is trading the number one overall pick for him. Even if you add Kevin Williams. Winfield is going to be 35 years old and just had a down year.

no.2 is doable but I doubt the Vikes get the value they want considering AP's nasty injury. And no.1........don't even get me started because that is a joke

Allen is worth a first rounder easily. Might not be worth the 1st overall pick though. But if the vikings didn't hate us, I would offer the packers first round pick for Allen without thinking twice.

No

Right now offensively they need a big recieving threat and upgrade on o-line. Then on defense there are a bunch of holes to fill at all 3 levels. But this is a team 2 years removed from a NFC championship with not much change personnel wise other than the loss of favre and rice and the defense has aged.

Eh I dont see it happening. I dont think Allen and Williams are worth that much...ponder is still unproven. And there is going be alot questions with AP if im min...I stay where I'm at and see what you really have with ponder...in the mean time upgrade the o line...and get some more weapons for ponder.

You rarely ever see trades this big in the NFL. I wouldn't expect anything like this to happen.

APs a great RB, but he wouldnt net you luck from indy, he's the most highly touted QB prospect since manning and he's the perfect player to build around, AP not so much.

and AP is not worth two number ones from the colts, and allen is definitely not worth a top 10 pick

Peterson can't be traded because he can't pass a physical right now. Aside from the sheer ridiculousness of trading away the only offensive payer worth a damn, it's technically impossible this offseason. Then there is the stadium factor, and deaing away the most popular Viking since Fran Tarkenton isn't exactly the way to endear the people of Minnesota to pony up for a new stadium. I would argue that trading Peterson and Allen would guarantee the Vikings follow the Lakers to Los Angeles.

Doesn't matter how good he is. It was just stated it's impossible to trade him because he can't pass a physical. You're going to have to come up with another way to get luck.
