If you can afford losing Monta's assists and steals then go for it. This one really depends on what your team needs.

I'd be careful with Melo's injuries. He's dealing with a sprained ankle and wrist. While not major injuries it could cost him more games in the future. A short season with many games does not help.

It depends on the rest of your team. I think Deng is going to start producing better numbers very soon.

i'd keep ellis and deng
deng is one of the best SFs to have because he chips in everywhere w/o killing your fg%. career 47%. don't overreact to the slow start.
so you don't need melo. he is a luxury.
meanwhile ellis is a PG. PGs are scarce, SFs are not. ellis has warts -- his fg% and tos are a problem -- but that's mitigated by his massively improved FT%, the plethora of assists and steals.
furthermore one of melo's biggest advantages used to be his low TO rate. but the lack of a PG on the knicks roster means he's point forward more often so his TOs have skyrocketed. deng's super low TO rate helps mitigate ellis' sky-high rate.
cousins + melo would rape you in TOs because cousins is a turnover machine. also cousins has massively overrated upside because he fouls all the time. 14/10/2 in 27 mpg looks real nice but it's unsustainable when it's attached to 42% FG/3 TO/ 4.7 (wtf?) PF
