Rumor -- Beasley to Dallas?

Post#1 » by Sundog » Thu Jan 19, 2012 12:26 am

Apologies if this has been posted, but I can't find it anywhere.

Unsubstantiated rumor about Dallas being interested in Michael: http://sports.gather.com/viewArticle.ac ... 4981034659

NBA Trade Rumors – Michael Beasley to Dallas Mavericks?
January 18, 2012 04:40 PM EST
The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the better young teams in the NBA, but they have a number of good young forwards, and making a deal before the trade deadline is a strong possibility. With the team drafting Derrick Williams with the second overall choice in last year's draft, it is likely that Michael Beasley is the best option in a trade.

The latest basketball trade rumor has Minnesota looking to move Beasley after he returns from an injury, and the Dallas mavericks are one of the teams that could have an interest in the young forward. Beasley could use a move to a team with a strong veteran influence as the young man has had trouble off the court in his short career, but he is a proven scorer, and the Dallas Mavericks could use his offense and youth if the team wants to repeat as league champions.

Beasley is in his fourth year in the NBA and has averaged nearly 16 points and six rebounds per game, and a move to Dallas might be in the best interest for him and Minnesota at this point. Look for the Timberwolves to make a move before the trade deadline, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Beasley was playing for his third team in just four years.

That looks more like speculation than an actual rumor. As for the actual trade, what would we get back in return? Perhaps we can package a slightly bigger deal to get Shawn Marion, but that's just me.

Here's what the writer, Larry Seely, has to say about himself:

People say I'm: I'm a guy, love sports, poker, and music., A friend till the end, if you can take my humor.
Just a guy who loves sports and is passionate about the teams i follow. Just got back into the writing thing and hope you all enjoy it. If you don't agree, send me your own opinion.

On Gather, I'm Looking For ...: I'm looking to meet people of different views and challenge myself as a thinker and a writer.

Read between the lines. Clearly a guy with scads of legit sources in NBA front offices.

I see nothing DAL could even offer. Even their pick is gone.

When can this rumor be Klomp'd?

Rudy might've been nice if he was still there

I say it's either Klomp'd or we ride this bad boy on a Larry Seely rumors marathon all the way to the 100 page mark!

sounds made up, though Dallas is one of the few teams I could see having interest

how about...Odom/Beaubois for Beasley/Ridnour. Rubio pads Odom's stats then we trade him to a contender
