Travis Outlaw effect

Post#1 » by NyCeEvO » Tue Jan 24, 2012 11:25 pm

I forgot Outlaw (and now I'm getting a headache thinking about him) but I think this is pretty funny.

Look at all of the turmoil that the Kings have gone through this season:

Paul Westphal fired after 7 games
DMC continuing his attitude issues
Jimmer is playing pretty poorly
Tyreke's status as a NBA player has continued to descend

And look at John Salmons (per ESPN, article entitled "2011-12 All-Disappointment Team"):

And saving the worst for last, we go to Salmons, who has the worst PER of any player with at least 400 minutes played. This is doubly impressive because he had an off year the previous season in Milwaukee and figured to bounce back some; instead, his PER has dropped by nearly five more points, which again gives him one of the league's worst declines. Somehow, he's started every game, even though he hasn't made more than half his shots in any of them; he's at 34.5 percent for the season and has made 11-of-51 from 3.

While we're here, I'll again mention that the Kings traded down in the draft in order to acquire Salmons and the three years and $25 million remaining on his contract, and they also sent out a pretty decent player (Beno Udrih) who happens to play the one position where the Kings have no players at the moment.

You know who's the reason behind all of this, right?:

By the way, just fyi: Outlaw is averaging 3.2ppg/1.5rpg/0.1apg with 14.3% 3PT FG% and an overall 26.2 FG%. He's shooting 65.5% from the line and has a PER of 4.58.

So, do you guys miss him?

 , but it really is a shame because he's apparently one of the nicest guys in the NBA.

He was really good with the Blazers, but he's been bounced around from bad team-bad team-bad team after his tenure in Portland.

Nah, he was never really good anywhere.

Man you'll just try to spin anything huh?

So Travis is actually a really good player but he's just been bounced from lotto team to lotto team so that's the reason he's not good anymore?

No, I'm just saying he used to be good with the Blazers. And if your looking for a fight, try another time lol. This is becoming notorious for players to take bad play to a new level :P

Well yeah, Outlaw wasn't this bad until he wound up on the Clippers.

We need to acquire Travis Outlaw again just so we can immediately cut him and make Deron happy.
