Could be a candidate for All-Defensive Team?

I think it would be right

Yeah ... he does extremely well off the ball especially.

Eh, I don't think he'll get picked over Rondo or Westbrook just yet, although his all-around defense has been superb.

A longshot, but should get consideration because of his steals and charges taken.

If there were 3 all-defensive teams as there are all-nba teams, then I think he would have a shot at making the 3rd one. His defense is above average but is still far from elite. However, I believe he has the foundation to make the all-defensive team in 2 or 3 years, once he adds some muscle.

If Kobe has been in the all-defensive team all these years, Rubio should be a lock.

I'd say he is a top defender at PG along with Rondo and Lowry.

Who knows about the all defensive team tho. Rose got 4 first team votes last year and even Joe Johnson got 1 while Lowry got 0.

The problem with RR getting on one of the all defensive teams is that the point guard position is loaded with not just good defenders, but many of those good defenders are excellent two way players in their own right.

It would be difficult to stick out amongst a field where there are 3-5 candidates that play in larger markets and/or are more established.

He's had 3 or more steals in 9 of the last 10 games, wow. I didn't realize he was such a thief. But yeah, seems like this team is based a lot of reputation as well as production, so I doubt he sniffs the team.

i've said it before but i absolutely LOVE ricky's off ball defense...especially the way he has that boxers bob on his tippy toes ready to react and change directions...guy is an absolute genius on the court both defensively and offensively...i think he'll be in with a great shot if he keep playing the way he has.

I know stats don't tell the whole story but, just for kicks and giggles...

Rubio's defensive stats are better than Rondo's so far.

I think he has a league-wise reputation of being a pretty pesky, solid defender. Some fans might not think so but player and GM-wise I think thats the case.

I don't know how much/if it has any bearing towards the All-Defensive Team selection but in case Ricky ends up 2nd place in the ROY race, he might get a few consolidation votes.

Hype might be another factor at play, although I don't think he will have earned enough respect by the time.

By the way, are the 5 spots on the All-D teams position bound? It's only the All-Rookie Teams that are without any positions, right?

Let's keep winning.. and Rubio will get his awards. If we can win many games Irving can score as much as he wants.. Ricky is clearly the rookie of the year, by a mile.. We r talking about maybe the best passer in the game, and at the same time an elite defender at his position.. and a rookie, 21 years old.. Are u freaking kidding me??
