Pick and Roll analysis

Post#1 » by Stefan199 » Sun Feb 12, 2012 11:11 pm

Hello,

Im looking for advanced pick and roll stats.
I want to see how ball-handlers perform while being defended different ways (show, under, trap, soft etc.)...
Mysynergysports shows only the FGA, FGM and TOs not the assists a ball handler has coming off a pick and roll.

Im thinking about something like the stats shown here: http://www.82games.com/pelton10.htm

Thanks in advance

Such an analysis requires a lot of time with countless hours of video study. No idea, but I doubt that you will find such a thing for free.

For just the qualitative aspect of it, and some starting-point video, you might check out this thread.

alucryts spends a great deal of time discussing different defenses against the PnR and how to break them. Highlights the ECFs from last season, mostly.

Synergy is your best bet, you would have to look at the data game to game tho. They track assists and turnovers for everyone on game to game logs.
