Clippers continue their search to fill wing void

Post#1 » by mkwest » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:11 pm

Former Clippers forward Bobby Simmons, now with D-League Reno, is working out for the Clippers today.

Marc J. Spears

Free agent guard Jermaine Taylor has two workouts scheduled. He'll workout for the Phoenix Suns today and Los Angeles Clippers on Friday

Alex Kennedy

Michael Finley also worked out with Taylor in Phoenix yesterday. I'm sure that we worked out a couple of more players today that weren't named, but I haven't heard anything else yet.

As most of you know, Simmons spent a couple of seasons with us and won the MIP award before robbing Milwaukee blind.

I hope we keep on looking elsewhere. :(

I would rather take a chance on Findlay, than any other retread. I would wait until March 1st & see who is available.
We need a Back up #3 for sure, I just hope we don't settle for crap.

Any interest in a CJ Miles for Bledsoe swap?

Heh, I remember Bobby Simmons. He wasn't bad (until he got paiddddd.. and injured =[) He had that sweet midrange game.

I was reading about Paul Millsap's brother, Elijah Millsap. Maybe we should take a look at him.

CJ Miles is too poor of a 3 point shooter, no thanks.

Here's who I'd like to see us go after with our TPE's, I didn't really consider any players on good teams.

$3.931 TPE
Dorrell Wright
Carlos Delfino
Mike Dunleavy
Anthoney Randolph
Johan Petro
Shannon Brown
Shaun Livingston
Shawne Williams
Eric Gordon

$2.855 TPE
Robin Lopez
Jordan Hill
Courtney Lee
Reggie Williams
Ryan Hollins
DeShawn Stevenson

I'd love to add Wright/Delfino and Lopez/Hill!

EJ? i wish. i would love deshawn, or lee from that list. livi would be a sentimental pick but he still doesn't have NBA SG range to his shot. perhaps toronto may dump delfino?
ehhhhh f it.

Nope! I'd love to have him. We should have signed him in the offseason, maybe VC too for the money they got. T-Mac only got the minimum, ATL is going to make the playoffs and he is one of most valueable players, kinda like Chauncy was to us. He's doing great, why would they trade him? I didn't put any players from playoff teams on my list. Playoff teams won't dump anyone worth a **** for a TPE.

I'm alright with giving someone from those workouts a 10 day deal or two.

That would mean we could still waive them and we would add someone until after March 1st, when a lot of those free agent signings will become available for trades.

I wasn't sure on Finley, but it looks like we did work him out.

The Clippers worked out Michael Finley, Bobby Simmons, Jermaine Taylor, Kelenna Azubuike, Alan Anderson, Elijah Millsap and Julian Wright on Friday.

Brad Turner, LA Times

Finley is really long in the tooth, but should still be able to shoot.

Azubuike would be great if he's finally healthy. We did want him a few years back, but he hasn't played in over 2 years due to blowing out his knee.

Elijah Millsap is Paul Millsap's younger brother. He has nice size at 6'6 and 215 lbs. In the D-League, he's averaging 19.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and is shooting 40.6% from beyond the arc on 64 attempts.

Out of the names listed, Azubuike and Millsap interest me the most.

Do we have anymore info on Azubuike? How has he healed from his injury?
