How much better does Walls J look now after missing so bad last year he finally wouldnt shoot it just like Ves wont now.

I didnt want to talk about this in the Jan thread where hands had made that point so im starting a new thread...

This has been on my mind for some time now: Its clear Wall and Booker have improved their shooting, and this is/was one of the most important areas of both players game's that needed to improve. Not saying it is perfect just yet, just that it has improved.

For both of them, this seemed to coincide with Flip being fired and Whittman stepping in. Is this mere coincidence? I seem to also recall that a shooting coach had been brought in, but I think that was specifically to work with Vesely.

So I guess the point of this thread, and what i am asking is; Coaching change, shooting coach, or simply player progression? To what or whom do we owe thanks for this steady improvement?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

And part II would be: why isnt this rubbing off on others as well?

My guess is that Booker and Wall work harder than everyone else. Although, to be fair, I've seen a little improvement out of Seraphin and Singleton lately as well.

At any rate, I don't think there's anything special that Wittman is doing to help them practice. My guess is that they're getting better looks in games because of Wittman's tweaks to the offense. Either that or the simplification of the offense has gotten the players into more of a comfort zone when they get the ball.

I think Blatche being out played a role as well since his shots had to be distributed to other guys. Now they have gotten more comfortable with the ball. If Blatche hadn't been out Booker wouldnt have gotten many shots.
