Post#1 » by BigDaddyPR » Thu Mar 15, 2012 6:17 pm

He wants a buyout to play with us again. I guess hes better then Joel?? But i really doubt Boston gives him away like that to a rival...

I'd rather bring up Antoine Walker from the D-League's Idaho Stampede

Michael Wallace ‏ @WallaceNBA_ESPN
Not sure I'm buying this Heat-J.O. talk. He wasn't comfy here first time around, and Heat weren't fond of some of his actions on way out.

The fact that this was even brought up in trade discussions:

JO is still a big body, 260lbs 6'11. He is probably the only C in the league who would fight against Dwight.

JO would be a nice starter in the playoffs with Joel Anthony being the backup.

I'm actually not averse to it. JO was awful in the playoffs for us last time around, but it was obvious that he was never the same after that ankle injury in late March/early April. Before that he was a huge part of that D that was so good.

He's certainly better than anyone on roster right now past Bosh/Joel/Haslem, and he has familiarity with the coaching staff.

The remarks on his way out leave somewhat of a bitter taste in the mouth, but at the same time, if he's willingly buying back in, then it couldn't have been that bad, and probably his comments were more sour grapes than a true expression of his feelings.

I'd be into it.

His on/off #s put him as a decently impactful defender, btw. Though he's not looking great on O, so there's that. Not like any of our other backup bigs do either though

Boston's currently #3 in DRTG. Outside of Garnett, the only guy making any sort of significant impact for us on that end is JO. I think he still has some value
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

I would take him, in the worst case scenario we bench him. Low risk situation and still a big body, with some D and rebounds... it is worth a try imo.

You know what, I take back my original comments which were more based on emotion (The way JO played during his last days here) rather than logic.

He's better than Gladness and Curry. Probably better than Pittman too. It wouldn't be a 'sexy addition' lol, but an improvement.

I was about to say no simply because I still have that thought of whenever I hear JO I associate with 16% in the playoffs, and a couple of his comments when leaving the Heat but he's still better than most of the Bigs the Heat have so tbh I wouldn't mind.

Matter of fact he'd start on this team,he's averaging 8 and 9 and 2.7bpg PER 36(obviously will be playing a lot less than that) but the defensive aspect is all we need as he won't be taking many shots regardless.

This allows Joel to move to the role he'd excel better in(being more of an energy guy off the bench).

Boston sucks at rebounding and they have him. He won't make a difference.

I am a bit sour about him anyway, saying he wanted to leave "to contend". BISH WE KNOCKED YOUR TEAM OUT THE NEXT YEAR HAHAHAHAHA

he's injury prone too... I don't think he'd make much of a difference.

lol I was looking at his numbers against Chicago... Joel can do what he can do against Chicago..

Washed up man.

And his numbers won't magically get better if he comes here.

Damn you guys hold grudges.

I'd take him instead of Gladness. He can still play defense. I'd take him at center over Gladness, Howard, Curry, Pittman and Haslem.

Just play him in short bursts when we have offensive weapons out there with him.
