OOOOficial Hawks/Bulls postgame thread.

Post#1 » by parson » Thu Mar 29, 2012 1:51 am

I know I'm not the only one who saw this debacle. Y'all just didn't have the heart to post.

I had an old dog, hair falling out with no teeth, who insisted on running with the young dogs. I thought about him watching us play tonight. Either we're tired or apathetic, I'm not sure which. Too many stupid, lazy passes, too many missed assignments.

I still want Asik.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

These guys have played enough minutes to equal 6 games in 6 nights. They are exhausted. you could see the cuts that were a step slow, a step slow on rotations, a step slow on everything. they were slow in Milwalkee, but almost pulled that one out.

I don't see anything apathetic about the Hawks right now, which I am loving. Its a big loss, but at the same time, these guys really need a break.

I missed the game due to work.

I received some text messages about how bad we looked.

Wow. I missed most but not all of the game due to classes.

I saw at halftime we were down 8...

Code: Select all

Bulls @ Hawks   Q1   Q2   Q3   Q4   TOTAL
   Bulls      21   33   22   22   98
   Hawks      23   19   18   17   77

It looks like the Hawks just couldn't score against the Cows.

When I tuned in Deng was hitting 3s on Joe, who wasnt athletic enough to recover or more likely just tired.
Imo LD should have gone with size. This is the 2nd time he has played into putting Joe Johnson vs Deng on both sides.

And Josh Smith went 8 for 21. Is Zaza going to get 13 offensive boards by himself.

Rose or no Rose, 3 guards is playing right into CHI's strengths, . If this were an Elimination Game 4,5,6, or 7 of the playoffs, Everyone knows this would be a better starting lineup.

Teague
Johnson
Smith
(Horford- Ivan Johnson)
Pachulia

A big lineup. Should have started Ivan and made a statement. This was a statement game. And Drew isn't desperate enough. We don't have Horford but put Ivan Johnson in there. Especially in a physical game like CHI.
That lineup needs some playing time and the bench needs to make due. Oh and another tank job by Collins by what I heard and a Dampier DNP

having Smith chase Deng around screens all night would just be insane you basically are taking our best shotblocker and 2nd best rebounder away from the rim to chase a jumpshooter. All the while, their bigs get to put extra shots on him. Plus they could guard Ivan with Deng and not lose anything defensively.

Marvin Williams is simply perfect for guarding Deng(even though I love bench Marvin). He doesn't have a great deal of responsibility on the offensive end and he is our best perimeter defender.

Stop that BS man.

Since when has Deng been able to "run off screens all night". Or maybe you mean using screens.

The 1st time Deng tried to create off a screen Joe ran into Joakim and Zaza switched and blocked Deng's layup out of bounds.

Then you say "All the while, their bigs get to put extra shots on him" Who is "him"?

And saying they could guard Ivan with Deng or that Thibodeau would have to gall to put an injured player on a bruiser... has much to do with nothing. Our goal would be to defend 1 on 1, force them to take contested shots and rebounds.

Even worse is the fact that the Bulls want Deng on Joe Johnson not Ivan Johnson and thats an automatic loss if you put Brewer on JJ and Deng on a PF bruiser Ivan. Josh Smith had 1 blocked shot.

None of what you're saying comes into play when you actually watch the game.

Bulls won with Boozer posting up Josh & then facing up Zaza & Hawks would double.
