What happened to Ebanks?

Post#1 » by ETphoneHome12 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 3:59 pm

Hey guys, 76ers fan here but I went to WVU and saw a lot of Ebanks during my time there. I remember in the beginning of the season Ebanks was named a starter (if i remember correctly). What happened? Does he even see the court nowadays? Sorry, I don't catch many Lakers games so I figured I'd ask you guys. Thanks

He started the first few games of the season mostly because MWP was nowhere near game shape and it showed. Now there's just no minutes in the rotation for him when Matt Barnes is playing as well as he is. They both play similar games (slashers moving off the ball) and to be fair the important minutes Ebanks did see after being pulled from the starting lineup were unproductive. Since then he hasn't seen the floor unless it's garbage time, which has been rare since this team can't hold a lead.

i think its safe to say ebanks didn't really show he was good at anything. also doesn't help that matt barnes has played so well and that jim buss, according to his comments, still has MWP as a top 5 defender per his evaluation methods/stats.

He is a good young talent, just has not had a real good shot. He will find a new team next year were he can get more minutes. Lakers will not pay him much to come back. He needs to find minutes and make himself a player, he looks like Ariza, but that is where there games end.

Problem 1: He went to WVU ( from Pitt)
Problem 2: He came out 2 years too early.
Problem 3: His game isn't refined on either end (see #2).
Problem 4: He's immature (see #1 and #2).

Mike tea cup ride of who gets to play. After the McRoberts sitting earlier it wouldn't surprise me if he up and starts playing Ebanks at some crucial point in the playoffs after he's developed rust because MWP and Barnes missed a shot.

i think he still has a solid future in the league as an Ariza-esque forward. he just needs time to play.

No more developing Ebanks or Goudlock (our 2 most promising young players).

Last 3 games
Bench Kobe in the 4th (loss)
Bench Bynum in the the second half (win barely)
Don't play Kobe, Gasol & Bynum together in the second quarter (loss)
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!
