Terry or Crawford?

Post#1 » by general » Sat Apr 7, 2012 6:50 pm

They have similar roles They have both won 6th man.The difference is Terry is 35 going on 36 years old and is 6'2 and more of a spot up or coming of screen shooter and has hit Big shots.Crawford is 31 actually just turned 32 I see and is a 6'5 Point/Shooting guard who can create by himself and is the All-Time Leader in 4pt plays Made. and "nickname" is the closer who's known for crossover moves and scoring the ball. Both are free agents who would you have?

I hate Terry's attitude/holier than thou mantra he likes to float around...to be honest this isn't that close surely? Terry is the better player now and Crawford will get overpaid, but I'd hope neither are anywhere near the Suns next season

I'd rather throw some money at Mayo or DRAGIC..

^Yeah Gordon should be our top FA target. I just lumped Mayo in there along with Terry/Crawford cos he's in their price range probably, Gordon will command double if not more most likely

Well Terry is a FA who just came off of $11M salary, and Crawford has a player option this upcoming year and is making $5M. So there has to be more to the question than just, "Who would you want".

I have liked Terry in the past, but thats in the past. No way in hell would i sign him as a FA. I also wouldnt sign Crawford as a FA, but as stated before he isnt a FA. If we could make a trade and pick up Crawford/Hickson, well, id do it. S&T Nash for Crawford/Hickson/Portlands 1st (#11) i would also do. They get to keep NJ's pick, drop Crawfords $5M, and secure a PG, a position which they have nobody at after this year. Maybe sign Bayless as our PG, with Crawford playing back-up off the bench. Sign Gordon, Sign Williams.

Bayless/Crawford
Gordon/Dudley
Williams/Warrick
Hickson/Morris
Gortat/Frye

Then draft BPA @ #11 and #13.

No way Portland trades their lotto pick for Nash when they can just simply sign Nash cause he's an unrestricted FA.

I like the idea of Bayless at PG though.

They trade theirs, and keep New Jerseys. Also it guarantees Nash plays for them and not one of the many other teams that will be looking to sign him. It also allows them to dump Crawfords PO, something they were trying to do before the trade deadline, so it frees up more cap space to throw at Batum.

It make sense, it really does.

Yeah I like the idea of Bayless running the show as well. Obviously his numbers are slightly hollow/to be taken with a grain of salt, but he can score and as a homegrown product he'd get a nice following instantly. Would be the ideal backup to Nash next year

just sign dragic (or bayless) and max out gordon.

nash/dragic/telfair
gordon/redd/brown
hill/dudley/brown
frye/morris
gortat/lopez

all lineups would have great 3-pt shooting giving the team good spacing.

Replace Lopez with rejuvenated Oden and we're good :)

sign Gordon and Beasley then draft Moultrie, Sullinger, or Jones III

this gives us youth with nash and sign some vets to play

Nash, Telfair
gordon, dudley
Beasley (mentored by hill) Hill
Moultrie SUllinger or Jones III, Morris
Gortat, Frye

If Sullinger becomes a rebounding big with a good post game in league maybe he could draw a double team and play frye along side of him!
