Fantasy Question: Lawrie
I know, I know, there's a Fantasy board, but nobody every writes on it.
I'm in a keeper league, points, head to head. Someone offered me Adrian Gonzalez for Lawrie straight up. I shouldn't hesitate in accepting it right?
Am I just letting my Blue Jay homerism stop me in clicking yes?

Thats pretty ify. Agon is soooo good, and Lawrie could have a bad rookie season. But if Lawrie does good, he does great. I would stick with Lawrie.

Re: Fantasy Question: Lawrie
I'd definitely pull the trigger - that sophomore season always does tricky things. I had Lawrie and just recently traded him. 20 team league. It went like this: Lawrie/Lee (Houston)/Willingham/Gregerson for Prado/Ichiro/Stubbs/Cordero. I needed the speed.

I would take A-Gon. But it is fun to have one of your favourite players on your fantasy team, so I wouldn't blame you for taking Lawrie.

Who do you have at 1B now? And who'd you get to replace Lawrie if you pulled the trigger.

I have Morales now, huge injury risk, but I also have 2 UTIL spots, so Morales could go there.
Freese would replace the 3B spot until Hanley has enough starts, and then Hanley would move to 3B with Dee Gordon as my SS.

Re: Fantasy Question: Lawrie
If you have Hanley Ramirez on your roster and Kendry Morales as your 1B, I would take the deal. A-Gon is still young enough that you should get 5-7 years of good production out of him.

I don't know, also depends on how serious this fantasy league is. Sure, technically it may be the right decision to take A-Gon...but if it is just a fun league, would you not rather cheer for lawrie over a red sox player when it's such a close call

if the goal is to win, you take the better player. A-Gon now, but maybe in a couple of years Lawrie is the guy

Re: Fantasy Question: Lawrie
While we're on the topic of fantasy, I have Cordero as one of my relief pitchers. Should I stick with him or grab a free agent? He's the only Blue Jay on my team and that was the sole reason I drafted him.

I'd go with Greg Holland. He's available on most fantasy leagues (FA) and is an excellent pitcher.
60 IP, 37 hits, 19 BB, 0.933 WHIP, 74 SO and might have the closer role this year due to injuries. He got hammered his first time out this season but I doubt it's a trend.

Re: Fantasy Question: Lawrie
Holland got drafted in the 16th round in my league. Any other suggestions?
If it helps to narrow it down, the only free agent relief pitchers with over 50% ownership are Neftali Feliz, Kenley Jansen, Jonathan Broxton, Matt Thornton, Jim Johnson and Chris Sale.

He plays for Texas so he will get the W's
It's a tough choice though, none are that good.
