Ebanks and Brown
So what's the verdict on Devin Ebanks? Will he play or will he not? If not, what reason will Mike give for his benching?

Re: Ebanks and Brown
he's likely to be done playing in games....unless we have a 20 point lead with less than 2 minutes to play, which is a feat that we cant seem to do....we have early leads but we always give it a way

Re: Ebanks and Brown
He wasn't anything special yesterday. If anything he looked slower and lazy on defense. Cool stats though.

He didn't play super great, but even if he did I doubt he would of played anyway. Mr Potato Head seems like he only wants to play 8 players.

Steve Blake should not be getting a single minute at back up SG over Ebanks

I dont understand why you guys are so down on Mike Brown. His schemes have encouraged and produced better defense and he focused on Bynum this year. 2 things Phil didnt do last year that really made a difference in why LA got swept. Ebanks is a SF that was used as a SG to cover a hole. He obviously isnt that great at it. He had 12 pts in 32 min and nothing else to speak of. I dont think that garners a bunch of attention. People keep talking about how horrible MB rotation is but really what SHOULD his rotation be? Most teams have a set rotation of 8-9 players. He has that already. How about putting the burden on the players to perform and stop giving away games b/c of poor execution.

Ever since Glock was sent into exile Blake's been getting mostly all of the back up SG minutes except of the rare occasion that he puts Barnes in with Ron.

Re: Ebanks and Brown
Who's our back-up PG then? Our most played line-ups that involve Blake have him at the PG spot using NBA.com's lineup comparison.

cut blake's minutes to 12 min a game. give those 12 of them to goudelock. drop kobe's min by 3 or 4 a game and split it between goudelock and barnes

Re: Ebanks and Brown
Blake should play PG when Bryant is on the floor and Sessions is not. That's his only use.

Thats really easy to say from the outside looking in but I tend to believe there is a reason why he isnt getting floor time. Ive seen him light it up a handful of times b/c he can score, but how effecient is he really? Blake may not be that great on the box score but he knows the game and coming playoff time, there isnt any time to experiment with rookies and players that arent fully ready. The Lakers main problem is their own sloppy play in crunch time. On paper this team is top 3 the most talented and well rounded in the league. They just need to gel as a team and coaching staff. Stop blaming Mike Brown for all this teams woes when this team got swept with Phil Jackson as the coach last year.

When was the last time Steve Blake was ready during playoff time? He's even worse in the playoffs than he is in the regular season. I don't know his stats in the playoffs, but I can assure you they aren't good. I'd take a rookie that isn't afraid to shoot over a veteran who would rather eat his own shtt then shoot the ball.

So what Brown won't play the rookies in the playoffs so your opinion is worthless.

Right, because Brown doesn't have a history of playing rookies in the playoffs....oh wait...
