Favorite Game Attended in NJ

Post#1 » by NjNeTs1029 » Mon Apr 23, 2012 5:42 pm

With today being the last day with the Nets in Jersey I thought it'd be cool to hear about everyones favorite game they've attended in NJ. For most of us its prob going to be from the Kidd era.

For me its easily game 5, Nets vs Pacers in the first round back when it was best of 5.

Same here, I went to that game when I was 16 with my father. Reggie Miller was my favorite player growing up but I was a Nets fan all the way. Could not have asked for a better game. I still have the ticket stub.... Anybody going to tonights game?

Man so many I could pick from.

Off the top I think I'd have to go with Game 5 of the ECF's in 01-02 versus Boston.

I didn't get to any of the games in the 1st round that year versus the Pacers.

I was at that game too. The best game I've ever been too.

I remember when people were stomping their feet and the whole building was shaking. It was so epic!

I was in the upper level and really thought the floor was going to break. It felt like I was in an earthquake the way the floor was swaying side to side.

Been to so many, but I'd have to say the playoff game in 2005 vs the Heat when Carters shot was bouncing all around the rim. It felt like it was on the rim for 20 minutes watching that live. I even remember where I sat, section 234 row 12.

Yup, Game 5, Nets-Pacers.

One that's definitely in my top 10 is Nets-Knicks, 1995 regular season. Game was on NBC, a rare nat'l TV spot for the Nets.

Rick Mahorn was brilliant and goaded Patrick Ewing into a double ejection. Nets wound up losing the game but seeing Ewing get played off with "Hit The Road Jack" in the first half will always be one of my favorite memories.

----

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Knicks lost Patrick Ewing just before halftime when he and New Jersey's Rick Mahorn were ejected after Ewing grabbed Mahorn by the throat. But the Knicks still were able to overcome a 16-point second-half deficit and beat the Nets, 94-85, Sunday, in a game that included four ejections, eight technical fouls and one flagrant foul.

The bad blood between Ewing and Mahorn started when Mahorn elbowed Ewing, who a little later yelled at Mahorn. After Mahorn yelled back, Ewing grabbed Mahorn around the throat. Mahorn then pushed Ewing, prompting the ejection of both.

"If I was going to do anything, I would have punched him," Ewing said after being ejected for the fifth time in his career.

Said Mahorn: "Patrick wouldn't take a punch at me. I'd find out where he lives and I'd be waiting at his door."

New York's Derek Harper and the Nets' Benoit Benjamin were thrown out late in the game in separate incidents.

there are soooo many, considering my family has been season ticket holders since 1992... speaking of 1992 i was 4 years old at the Nets-Magic game when shaq tore down the entire hoop, that made me a fan of basketball for life...

two other amazing games ill never forget was against the cavs during the regular season when jabari smith threw the inbounds alley oop to RJ over lebron as time expired...

ALSO on Jan 2nd 2009 Vince Carter's 35 foot buzzer beater in OT was the most adrenaline ive ever felt at a sporting event... and im a D1 athlete

You guys remember that one game where VC was going insane and Bruce Bowen tried to break his ankles with a M. Bison slide?

Vince ended up getting thrown out and we lost the game, I was pissed as hell after that...

Just one of those games which stick out in my mind because of the spectacle...as a kid and a huge NBA fan, I will never forget that moment of pure shock and excitement at a game where the unthinkable happened...

I'll try to post a couple more...

Not bad. Can't complain(except about the Nets and the use of the term "hater" haha).
