NO gets:

Josh and Zaza

Hawks get:

Okafor, Jason Smith, and #10 pick

Only do this if Jeremy Lamb, Barnes, MKG, or Drummond is there for the taking.

If the only stipulation is taking Okafor then why would we have to give Josh, why not give Josh for the GSW #7 then trade #23/Marv for Okafor/#10, if NO Demands Josh then don't do the trade and just trade Josh for the GSW pick, if they do do the trade then trade the #7 and #10 for a top 3 pick unless Drummond falls to number 7.

Because they are obviously trying to get rid of Okafor or Ariza's contract by doing this. Zaza, Josh, and Teague are our expirings. You could try Zaza and Teague for Ariza and #10 if they would do it. There are other options other than trading Josh but I don't think they are very realistic.

Okafor's contract isn't really that bad. It's essentially the same as Josh, just with one extra year on it. It still exposes the Hawks to luxury tax, but just 1 year of it. It's a reasonable option although I really don't like Okafor. So unless the pick is someone who really thrills me I'd rather have one year of starting Josh, Al, and Zaza on the front line over 2 years of Marvin, Al, and Emeka.

In that sense I understand you qualifying the trade with a caveat about who's available at the pick. The thing I don't understand is Harrison Barnes being on your draft wish list. He screams flop at me. At best I see him as the next Marvin Williams, which I don't consider a positive. In his 2 years at UNC he did step up to make a couple big shots but against weak opponents. He disappeared against better competition and never lived up to the tremendous hype that went with him. I hope the rumor of Cleveland being interested in him is true so he can be off the board and disappointed one of our conference opponents before we get to picks that we might acquire. Of the players you listed Lamb is only one likely to be on the board. I like his game, but question whether we have the coach and teammates to get him to play all out.
