Round 2: Whom to pick at #32 and #46
So much back and forth in the other draft thread about MK-G vs. Beal (vs. Drummond vs. Barnes...) that we might be ignoring a couple of picks that also could be critical to the team's future. So...
Who should we take at #32 and why?
How about #46 -- do you think there's going to be a player there with a good chance to make the team?

I'm pretty sold on Crowder, mostly by posters on this board, since he's not getting so much press elsewhere as far as I can see. If Beal is chosen at 3, Crowder would be my choice at 32, and best available shooter at 46, Denmon or similar for bench scoring. If Kidd-Gilchrist is chosen at 3, I'd still lean toward Crowder, but maybe more willing to see if he falls to 46, especially if John Jenkins or Will Barton are still available at 32.

If Jenkins is there at 32, you pick him, period.
Unless by "you" I mean EG in which case the pick is sold to Houston for some dry salame.

Re: Round 2: Whom to pick at #32 and #46
All year I've been saying John Jenkins should be the first of the two 2nd rd picks, but I'm not real sure he will be available in the second. The reason rests in his shooting percentage, three point and overall. He's not real athletic but he knows how to get his points. Would be a tremendous backup behind Crawford for the time being I think. Harrison Barnes 3rd overall, Jenkins 32nd.
My other option at 32 is Khris Middleton (SF). He can shoot as well. His numbers took a dip this year but he can knock down the open shot. Middleton like Jenkins isn't the most athletic but he gets his points in too; he looks for his teammates and doesn't force things when they aren't there and puts in a good effort on defense. Would add to bench scoring. Bradley Beal 3rd overall, Middleton 32nd.
Drew Gordon's (PF) the last player. Now I haven't seen him play so I can't really go into why he should be the guy too confidently but I might try to go after him with the 46th pick or 32nd. Some mock drafts have him going early second so I doubt he would be available along with the others I mentioned earlier. Just going off the all-telling Youtube clips, he doesn't really appear to have much athleticism, and doesn't look really natural on offense so I would have him going later (46) than those mock drafts. The guy can rebound. 11 reb. average in college. I think people say that usually translates well to the pro level. Booker's been injured the past two seasons and the Wizards could use more rebounding ability (I think it's at a decent level, not an area worth panicking about IMO---I know that's a hard sale to some). So that's my take on Gordon.

You pick the best player available. If Jenkins is there great. Don't worry if you pick Beal or MKG.

Re: Round 2: Whom to pick at #32 and #46
I'm sold on Crowder since YODA loved him. He always did make an impression on me watching Marquette play. Plus athletically he looks like he can handle some action at the 2 if need be. But I think he'll be okay at the 3.
If Quincy Miller somehow falls, I'd have to take him. He's got too much talent to pass on. Could be like selecting the next Rashard Lewis in the 2nd round.
If Barton falls, I would look hard at him but admittedly I like Crowder just a tad more.
At 46 I'd go for a Missouri Tiger. Either 1. Marcus Denmon or 2. Kim English.

I really, really like Denmon at #46. He's the perfect SG in all respects except size. He's a deadly shooter and a great athlete. I think he's going to be a real good player alongside Wall.

I think we have too many young players so I would package them to move up even if its just like to #28 if there is a guy there you like. Honestly, I would like to try to move up higher by packaging both picks with a guy or 2 on our roster

Do you have some sort of inside scoop?

John Jenkins/Hollis Thompson.
I want the deadliest shooters possible and those two meet the criteria.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

No. Just that his college stats are great and his athletic scores were great. YODA loves him. The only problem is that he isn't tall or long. He won't be able to guard most shooting guards. But on our team, John Wall can guard the SG. Denmon has the athleticism to guard PG's. I think he can be a better version of Danny Gibson or Mario Chalmers.

Philly is also looking for bombers, they are bringing-in Hollis. Hollis could go anywhere in that 2nd round.

I like him a lot. I have no idea why he seems to have fallen on draft boards. Over-emphasis on height. He's a very good athlete. How tall was Eddie House?

I couldn't agree less. We need *more* young players not fewer. Highest value contracts, and the only place real *surprises* can come from.

Chalmers is a good comparison athletically but has always been a 1. I think Denmon is likely to be better than Gibson. Has a shot to be in any case.

I'd try to bundle both picks to move up 10 spots for Quincy Miller.

No way is he good enough for me to sacrifice wearing Wall down by guarding SG's all year

Re: Round 2: Whom to pick at #32 and #46
I think the best value in this draft is in the 18-22 range. There are a lot of late-lottery type guys in this draft, and the only difference between teams drafting 7 and teams drafting 20 is that the team at 7 has it choice of which one to take.
I would look to trade both of our picks and crawford for a pick in this range. Then I would draft Ross, Terrence Jones, or Zeller if any of the three is available. If not, I'd take a flyer on Quincy Miller or Harkless, who both look like superb athletes with high potential.
If we have to keep them and draft players, I'd go with Yoda's Crowder or Doron Lamb.

I was all for Tyler Zeller earlier but drafting him just seems too unrealistic. How do you bring him in with Vesely on board? Feel like Grunfeld took the wrong white guy. I don't think Terrence Jones is a tough minded player from the times I've watched him. I think he would have me screaming at the T.V. if he played as a Wizard.
