Alec Burks is a nice guy!

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:35 pm

My two older boys are participating in the KC (Grandview, MO) Alec Burks/Tyron Lue basketball camp. Alec has been there all day teaching the boys... and high fiving all the kids. I asked him after the first day if he was going to be here all week with the kids and he said, "it wouldn't be my camp if I wasn't here all week." Tyron Lue on the other hand has not been there yet.

He comes from a good family, his mom is a very sweet lady and Alec conducts himself in a very friendly manner. Glad to see the Jazz got such a good kid as well as a good player.

I got to meet him the day after the draft last year and I was really impressed by him. A lot of people thought he had a thug type demeanor going into the draft but he really wasn't anything like that when I met him. He was super nice and was more than willing to talk to all the fans who were at the event.

That's awesome that he's staying at the camp for the whole week though. A lot of players don't even show up to their own camps.

My 9 yr old has had the most face time with him as he has been running the basket where my son spends his time. He shows the kids how to dribble during dribble drills... gives them encouragement when needed and high fives when they do something good. He also jokes around with the kids..

Its good to see...

Yeah, he's quiet which puts some people off, but he seems like a nice guy.
