Rockets Summer League Thread

Post#1 » by texasholdem » Mon Jul 2, 2012 2:12 pm

So it's semi-official that Zoran Dragic will be coming to play for us this summer
and they also signed Scott Machado from Iona. He's a 6'1 point guard that went undrafted last Thursday but he led the nation in assists with 9.9 per game to go with 13.6 ppg and 5.0 rpg.
Could be the next JJ Barea.

both went undrafted. both went to small colleges. both are good rebounders for their size. both are good three point shooters. both were finalists for the bob cousy award.

Barea made a name for himself in the Summer League. Machado has a chance to do the same.

Don't sleep on Dionte Christmas. He was a beast at Temple. I was really surprised when he didn't stick on Philly's roster a few years ago.

Good chance that many of these players will be on the roster this upcoming season.

What's good Dawggy!!!!

Yeah he definitely reminds me of an Ish Smith (whom I would've liked to keep). He's not going to wow you with his athleticism, but he is strong and has good size (6'2 205 lbs). If he can develop a good J (Ish Smith?) I think he could become a really good PG in the league. I hope he preforms well in the SL.

WHAAAAAAT UP Q-DAWG!!!!!!!!!
Im with you on that . I thought Ish Smith had alot of potential and was even outplaying Lowery at times then we moved him to the Grizzlies who never used him. ( He is also a free agent an I would pick him up) Lord knows we need a Backup Point because I dont have any faith in Livingston

Machado looks pretty good actually, I was surprised he couldn't get in the late 2nd.

Definitely most excited to see all our rookies though, Motie especially.

I wonder if we'll still have Zoran on our SL roster if Goran goes elsewhere.

Feign: "Couple changes to the Rockets summer league roster. Add Jai Lucas and Manny Harris. Dionte Christmas out"

Sorry CB, Christmas is Cancelled.

Jai Lucas? Should have got J'Covan Brown. I wonder if Lucas and Parsons are friends from Florida days.

Manny Harris might stick. Been awhile since we had a M.Harris on this team.

So our lineup presumably should be...

PG - Machado
SG - Lamb
SF - Parsons
PF - DMo
Cc - TJones

w/ White off the bench. That should be our actual lineup too. :D

I see White playing Center rather than TJones.

Manny Harris can play.

I'm interested in seeing how this rebuild/talent mining experiment turns out.

A guard who has the "leader gene" and a little talent can make something out of this team.

Not really understanding why you would start a 6'9 Terence Jones at Center When you could have 7'1 D.Montiejunas playing center and T.Jones playing 3or 4. Also Parsons wont be on the Summer league team which Means it should look more like this :

PG - Machado
SG - Lamb
SF - M.Morris
PF - R.White
Cc - D.Motiejunas
( T.Jones first off the Bench playing either 3 or 4 )
I also agree that Scott Machado is in the perfect situation at the perfect time this cat avged 9.9 assist per game last year.If he can do that on the NBA level we might have found the Gem of the draft.
