Coming over from the Bulls board to ask about Hassan.
With Houston possibly stealing Asik from us it might be time to start looking for a new backup center. I was wondering if you all would be so kind to give me a rundown of Whiteside. I know he doesn't get much burn with your team so any info is greatly appreciated.
What is his contract status? Do you think your FO wants to pick up his option? Is that right my understanding is that they have until the 15th to keep him or let him go UFA?
Thanks in advance.

I have to think we'll pick up his option. Too low-risk, high-reward to not do it.

He can block shots in a zone and that is it. He moves, dribbles, shoots, and rebounds like a 6 year old in a 7 foot body. That said, he is making a little bit of progress by working with Clifford Ray. He is a low risk gamble so I don't see why the Kings would write him off right now.

Not enough data on him to give a legit opinion. He missed all of his rookie year (with the exception of 2-3 minutes), and rarely played last season. But every time he played for us, he looks like he can be a really, really good shotblocker. But other than that, he looks raw.

Watch the April 8, 2012 game against the Rockets. Hassan gets 19 minutes, all in the second half.

+1
He is a prospect being paid peanuts...No reason to give up on him.
