GM a Team - Summer Style: Signups (Alternatives)

Post#1 » by BlackIce » Thu Jul 5, 2012 3:08 am

Ok, I've played this game long enough to finally understand how to run it. Here is the ground work, much of this is flexible and can be negotiated (majority rules) before the game starts. Once it starts, rules are set.

- 30 team, no contraction
- outside FA judge

Timeline: credit to Sambone for the structure

July X (whenever we fill rosters)- Trading opens (MUST HAVE ROSTER UP/I WILL APPROVE ALL TRADES IN A TIMELY FASHION)

July 15- FA opens at midnight EST

July 17 - FA closes at midnight EST (ROSTERS MUST BE WITHIN ROSTER LIMITS AT THIS POINT)

July 31 - draft lottery + playoff rankings

August 1 - draft will start, and trading will open using 2013 salaries

August 2- all 2013 team options and player options will have to be decided on

August 3 - FA opens

August 7 – FA closes

August 17 - Trade deadline is midnight EST

August 20- final rosters/writeup needs to be done

August 22 - rankings need to be sent in (if you don’t send in a complete ranking, you will not be allowed to play next game)

August 25– winners announced
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Salary Cap:

60M - Soft Cap
75M - Lux Tax
90M - Hard Cap

Amnesty:
Amnesty will be able to be used at any time contingent on the team not having used it already. Teams can only use it on players that had a contract when the CBA was signed, and has not been traded. The Amnesty completely takes the players contract off of your salary cap.

Trading:
Trades will be approved by me in a timely fashion, make sure your roster is updated the trade is legal and there won't be any issues.

Trading picks:
List protections on outgoing picks, there was confusion about this in previous games. You can trade back to back picks in this game. 2013-2017 picks are in play.

Under Lux Tax:
Teams can acquire up to the lesser of 150 percent plus $100,000, or 100 percent plus $5 million of the salaries they trade away.

Buyouts/Trading Money:
Standard 7mill to start. No ceiling.

Every team starts with 7M
Max amount of cash you can get/trade in one deal: 3M
You can never be a negative

Buyouts
Email me with the player, buyout, and 500k more than the listed salary.

Rough guide to start. I have always dreaded commishing, it's a thankless job as I've told every commish for years at this point. Someone's got to do it, and I've enjoyed this game for a long time so I thought I'd step up. Everyone is free to join.

Simply list your;
email
AIM (if applicable)
top 3 teams

Example:

allstar_1264@hotmail.com (my contact info for the game)
kingblackice1991 (AIM)

1. GSW
2. WAS
3. HOU

SALARIES
-Use 2012/2013 salaries.
-Salaries can be found at http://www.shamsports.com/content/pages ... /index.jsp.
-List salaries through at least 4 years.
-Must have totals at the bottom.
-If you waive a player that is on a guaranteed contract, you must still have them count against your total cap except for the player you amnestied.

ROSTER PAGE
You must include:
-Team name and/or logo
-Contact information
-Salaries
-Any Traded Player Exceptions (TPE's) that you have.
-Draft picks through 2016.
-All of your trades.
*You must have your rosters up and updated before your trades will be approved*

-You are also allowed to trade picks back to back years.

BI is hijacking RR9's game, I believe. So everyone who signed-up for that game should re-sign-up in this thread. If that is inaccurate, disregard it, but no need for 2 GMaT games going on simultaneously imo.

Correct. I talked to RR9 and I offered to run it in full. T-Mac will run FA, and if I need any help (I'm sure I will), I will take whatever guidance or assistance you can offer Riot. Thanks.

I have never GM'd:

Brooklyn
Chicago
Cleveland
Denver
Golden State
Houston
Memphis
Minnesota
Sacramento

So I guess you can give me one of those - whichever is left once you've got 30.

If possible guys, get AIM. Makes it easier to talk trades.
