Unfathomable by the Yanks front office to give Mr. October the cold shoulder after Reggie said some hard, cold truths...that cheaters should not be allowed in the Hall. That includes Alex Rodriguez AND Andy Pettitte.
What magnifies this story, Alex has shown noticeable decline in his numbers. Let's roll the clocks back (take note Jeter haters)...Alex opts out, Yanks outbid THEMSELVES and gave Alex a ridonkulous contract based on gross stats. Then Alex comes out about PEDs AFTER getting what he feels is his. Welcome to the horrors of GUARANTEED contracts.
Was 2009 worth what will ultimately handicap the Yanks ability to sign free agents to maintain their competitive edge is debatable...
What is undeniable, Alex cheated and in the spirit of competition is a slap to the face of those who played the game straight as an arrow.

We get it, you don't like Alex but no one needs to hear you moan about it anymore.
It wasn't cheating when he did it, there was no testing and there were no rules against it. MLB and the owners turned a blind eye because they were raking in millions and the sport was the most profitable it's ever been.
You're naive to think 75% of the league wasn't taking some sort of drugs but it just so happens that a few names were leaked and destroyed certain images when other's names weren't....
The Mitchell report was the worst thing that ever happened to baseball, it was a witch hunt and provided nothing of substance other then naming a few people without any real supporting evidence.
What's worse is that people act like there is a direct correlation between steroids and being a hall of famer. There are no studies that show steroids enhance any type of baseball skill so quit harping on Alex.
Reggie Jackson shouldn't have said what he did, no one knows what was available to the players in those days. They could have taken god knows what but no one will ever know. Alex took a substance that was widespread throughout the sport and he came clean about his mistake. Quit whining about his contract, it decreases in value as the years go, not increase like the albatross contract Pujols currently has.
Did we bid against ourselves? Probably but do you pay the bills? No, so shut the **** up.
There's a little saying in baseball that has been around forever, "if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying to win" Everyone is looking for that edge and just because he joined the culture that was prevalent throughout the league, well shame on him but don't dare sit there and say he was just one of a few that did it, when those who didn't are few and far between.
