Hassan Whiteside Waived By Kings
The Bobcats need to sign Whiteside ASAP. JMO, but I think he would be worth a look, especially if we have an extra roster spot. He has the local ties too. I think he has potential. Raw, but he could be built into something nice. Perhaps being close to home would be a huge benefit.

Too many 5's already, and we won't be placing Diop on Amnesty to sign this guy.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

^^^^^ This times a billion. He's put on some pounds but nothing he did on friday made me want to pay Diop 7.5 to sit at home.

Re: Hassan Whiteside Waived By Kings
I thought Whiteside had upside & potential, and even though he's still young, I already view him as over the hill. However, I would be interested in Sean Williams if he doesn't make the Celtics roster of depth.

2012-13 Free Agency Part II
The other one has reached it's limit and will be locked when a mod signs on.
Sucks about Jamison, he must not be very smart the Lakers aren't winning it all, I guess just making it to the playoffs is that important to him. Maybe we can get Landry but I have a feeling he will go to the Warriors.

We may as well use the amnesty on Diop because we know MJ is not going to pay Tyrus to do nothing.

Well played K2H. Thanks for the fresh thread.
If we do sign Landry I really hope it's only a 2/10 type deal.

Landry would be a good signing for the Cats. Much better than Jamison IMO. And I know there are a lot of fans, on RGM and other places, who thought Jamison to the Cats was a done deal because he wanted to play for his hometown. So much for that line of thinking.

Not this year he won't. But I would hold onto it and use it maybe next year or the year after on Thomas. What does cutting Diop's salary do for us? The amnesty clause is an asset that we can use on Thomas down the road should we be at the point to need to sign a free agent to "finish off" our team and be competitive. Why "waste" it now on Diop? Just wouldn't make sense to me. We can use part of our MLE, as far as I'm aware, on Landry. Just don't see any real reason to forgo our right to use the amnesty on Thomas down the road. The roster spot isn't worth that much (which is probably the only reason to do it now).

You amnesty Diop to sign a FA this year. Really Landry and Hump are the only two guys I can see them doing that for.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Re: 2012-13 Free Agency Part II
Well I'm not sure if we have to amnesty someone to finalize Haywood, but I would bet e have to if we're to sign him AND a PF.
Supposedly we're still chasing after Humphries and Landry (per Rick B). Not sure why we'd think we're still in the hunt for Hump, but I guess his agent is still trying to leverage us against the Nets to max the salary for his client. However, this crap has to end tomorrow as the amnesty decision is due. If we were to take on Hump, the salary hit would be pretty big, but the difference in cutting Diop versus Tyrus isn't that big relative to next season. I say there is no way we're getting Humphries.
Now, Landry won't come dirt cheap, but I think he is a better option than Jamison. I'm just ready for it to get done. Our team is still going to struggle, but we may at least be watchable and competitive on most nights, despite the certain losing.

Keep in mind, tomorrow is the deadline for the amnesty.
After tomorrow, we can't use it for the rest of the season... have to wait until next year

You saw what we did with Bad Porn's expiring deal. Why can't we do the same with Diop?
Just a matter of curiosity, why do threads get locked when they hit 100 pages?
btw, Hassan Whiteside got waived, we should go after him.

With Haywood we are presumably at the cap. We could use the MLE to sign Landry, easily. Even if we amnestied Diop, we still likely couldn't fit Hump in the cap space.

I'd pay a little for him. People keep hyping him up, I want to see what it's about.

If Kemba's "improved" play is any indication, we should just sign some cheap goofball like Whiteside or Anthony Randolph and save our money since we'll be horrible anyway.

LOL

Dave, I hear you! I know patience is a virtue, but I'm looking forward to seeing how well Sessions works with our squad.
I do think Landry would be another good option at a (hopefully) reasonable price. We'd be all midget when he and Biz man our front line, plus have Kemba, Gordon and Williams on the court!

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
