More Moves to Come post Olympics?

Post#1 » by GuyFawkes11 » Fri Jul 27, 2012 9:04 pm

David Kahn had a conference call with reporters, and he hinted that there just might be another "significant move" to come after the Olympics, here is what he had to say courtesy of Jerry Zgoda's tweets...

Kahn said they are thinking of one move with another team that he'd consider "significant."

Kahn said likely won't be any more moves until after Olympics just in case anyone gets injured in London

Jerry says this doesn't mean they are targeting a someone who is in the Olympics, but rather that Kahn wants to make sure his players (Love/Shved/AK) make it through the Olympics healthy before deciding on further roster moves

I think this is hinting at Williams and/or Luke/JJ being traded. for what? I don't know, but my gut feeling is one of those guys go, maybe even 2 of them, there is just a log jam now, and those players are the odd men out imo, I think Williams is the guy that will be most likely out, and then one of the PG by the trading deadline once Rubio is back

I'm hoping it means we are looking to add someone else who's playing in the olympics and Kahn wants to make sure they are healthy afterwards!

don't think iggy is coming to minny, I think this will be a move for picks so they can clear up some money for PeK and Chase for next season, they just want to make the trade now because they know Williams won't be seeing much playing time and his value will decrease over time, I think they just want to make sure Love is healthy first, otherwise they need Williams to replace him at least thats my thought, could be way wrong tho

there is also a part of me that thinks it could be Harden, there is a report that Durant now has doubts that OKC will resign Harden, maybe a package around Dwill for Harden? I think it would be a win for both teams, OKC gets good young talent they can afford, and twolves get a good SG, but then again, can the twolves afford him?

Its obviously Anthony Tolliver...a very significant addition for the TimberTrolls

Nah, Kahn said there was another team they are in talks with, so he is hinting at a trade not FA signing, unless it was S&T(maybe for Landry?), they can't sign anyone unless its for a vet min, I mean they can still resign AT, but I don't think this is the "significant" move he was referencing

You are seriously underestimating the impact Trolliver has. EVERY fan base can use him. He is a priority.

Getting in as the 3rd team in the Howard trade? Would Bynum re-sign here?

If there was any truth to that rumor about Bynum willing to sign an extension with the Cavs, I don't see why he wouldn't here. I have a hard time believing that rumor though.

As long as he gets paid and we're winning, I don't see why not, tbh.

I highly doubt it is for picks - I don't view that as signifcant & I don't think Kahn does either.
Iguodala, Harden, Bynum would all be nice. Would Harden be a 6th man here too? I see him as a nice fit with Ridnour at PG. I sincerely hope Taylor is ready to open up his wallet to construct a winning team - whether it is Bynum, Iggy, Harden, etc.

I couldn't imagine how good our perimeter defense would be with Rubio, Iggy, and AK47.

I just don't see them going after Iggy or another SG when I think about it, you don't invest as much as they did in schved/roy/bud just to have one of them be 3rd string guys, its going to be for picks/cheap player and or Big man with length, who plays above the rim, like Bynum, probably would involve PEK and williams if it for bynum, they better have an extension in place first before pulling off such a trade

besides, Zgoda is always hinting that the twolves want nothing to do with Iggy's contract

neither do I, but it would still be the best perimeter defense in the league.

Right now we're counting on Roy to be healthy, I'm not sure we should.

I agree, but the wolves have already put all their eggs in one basket when it comes to Roy and Shved, you can't aboard the plan now,you have to give it at least one game, preferably a season, if they wanted Iggy, they should have gone after him before all these signings, I think the AK signing was the wolves attempt to avoid going down the Iggy road

Not to mention, we don't know what we're going to get out Shved. That leaves us with Malcolm Lee (appears to be battling injuries still) and Budinger. Of course RA could still put Ridnour or JJB at the 2 but I don't want it to come to that. Iggy would be perfect.

I think iggy could be the starter, Roy the backup, and Schved the contingenc
y plan. Schved could also get time at PG.
