Greinke To The Angels

Post#1 » by UN-Owen » Sat Jul 28, 2012 4:57 am

The Angels have acquired Zack Greinke in a trade with the Brewers for Jean Segura and two Double-A pitchers in John Hellweg and Ariel Pena.

The three prospects are ranked second, fourth and ninth respectively by Baseball America.

Angels starting rotation has a lot of big name talent, a couple former staff aces including Haren and CJ Wilson along with a couple Cy Young candidates in Greinke and Weaver.

They are a team I see making a big 2nd half run.

Their pitching is definitely intimidating. The offense, less so.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

1. Weaver
2. Greinke
3- Wilson
4- Haren
5- Santana..... (having a down year)

............................. would u take that over what the Phillies had a couple of years ago. Im talking, Halladay/Lee/Hamels/Oswalt/Blanton

best part for the Angels is, all these guys are decent age. Phillies got guys nearing their end.

No, because Haren has been hurt and is not his usual self. Santana is as unpredictable as they come. Their top 3 are great, but their #3 is Wilson and he cannot flick a flame to then Phillies #3, Hamels, who is now pitching like their #1.

At the time, Halladay was one of the best, Cliff Lee was not far behind him, and Hamels was just as good. It's close, but the then Philly rotation beats this new Angels staff by a hair.
