YOUR Observations of Your NFL team

Post#1 » by W. Unseld » Sat Aug 25, 2012 5:41 pm

We all root/follow closely different teams. For whatever reason I can't find a ff website that uses a bunch of local beat writers so I'd like for everyone to give observations of their favorite team/teams.
Example: for the Skins I can tell you that the only safe pics are Pierre Garçon as a mid-low 2nd WR & Fred Davis as a borderline TE1. Stay the hell away from the defense bc of the schedule & some holes in the secondary.
The RB situation & the remainder of the WRs are clear as mudd. Help is most talented but most injury prone back & for the WR's Hankerson is best potential but he's basically a rookie in terms of knowledge of the game. The jury is still out on RG3 who is safest as a #2 qb in a keeper league.

Now please give me your thoughts & predictions on your favorite NFL team through the fantasy lense.

Seriously, no one knows of any sleepers from the team they root for?

Steelers. There is nothing particularly enlightening here, but it's what I've got. :)

I like Brown over Wallace, though that's not a unique opinion. In the 2nd half of last year, he had more targets, catches, and yards, and it wasn't close. Emmanuel Sanders looked great in camp two years ago, and has speed to spare. If Wallace struggles or the running game totally falters, then he's worth a roster spot.

About the running game, the guy you want to keep an eye on is Dwyer, IMO. Mendenhall is entirely unspectacular. Three yards and a cloud of dust, even pre-injury. Redman is solid, but unspectacular and is dealing with injuries. Everytime Dwyer has stepped on the field, when I've been watching, he's shown the shiftiness needed to create space and pick up yards. By the time Mendenhall is ready to come back, I expect the job to be Dwyer's. You may then get a time share for a game or two, but I think you'll see Dwyer do to Mendenhall what Mendenhall did to Parker.

I would have liked Ben as a QB sleeper, but the O-line is basically the same as last year even with the two draft picks (Decastro tore his MCL and Mike Adams isn't ready, at all).

Colts

- I like Wayne a lot this year, him and Luck already have great chemistry. Arians is moving him all over, he is going really late..snag him if you can.
- Donald Brown has looked good so far in the preseason, but the oline is awful. Ballard looked great in the preseason, keep an eye out for him if Brown goes down.
- Hard to tell which TE will have a better year right now between Fleener and Allen, it is a tossup.
- Collie is expected to be back week 1, I think he is going undrafted right now...he could be solid.

New York Jets

Stay away from everyone on this team unless Tebow becomes starter later in the season because he then becomes a playable qb during bye weeks.

The wrs are all trash this year and Shonn Greene clearly isn't the answer at Running Back.
