C´s fan that comes in peace
DF is imo one of the guys that most impress me last season. But with Big Al Jeff @C and Millsap @PF I only see backing up in this 2 spots. I´m I right? don´t you guys think you should trade Big Al and give Favors the job with kanter backing him up?
What would you expect from him this season ?

I will be very surprised if Favors doesn't start this year. I suspect one of two things will happen:
1) Millsap will agree to a bench role.
2) Millsap will start at the 3, with Marvin Williams coming in first for whichever of Millsap/Favors/Jefferson gets into foul trouble or isn't working on any given night.

Yes, we should trade Big Al and play Favors at Center. I think Favors is too good of a rim defender to get stuck chasing stretch 4's around the floor. Millsap + Favors is a pretty good defensive combo, and I think they'll score okay.
You want Big Al back?

Re: Derrick Favors
Jazz will always look at trade options if it betters the team, but they won't just trade a valuable asset just to free up a log jam. They see the competition as a good thing, and will make everyone involved better.
I personally would love to see Sap work the 3 spot more. I doubt we see a trade unless we are not a playoff contender come trade deadline.

If you're curious about what it would take to get Big Al, Pierce or Rondo are the only options due to cap restrictions. Not crazy about Pierce at this point, but Rondo would be intriguing.

Re: Derrick Favors
Hard to think up a combination that would net us Rondo. Big Al as the main piece in a Rondo trade would draw a disturbed gasp from Danny Ainge, I'm guessing.

Re: Derrick Favors
I'm going to go out on a cliff here and make a bold prediction.
Big Al is going to have the best year of his career and stuff a dirty sock in the mouths of all the haters.
I saw a lot of improvement in his passing and defense last year, and with the shooters added I don't believe he will get stuck having to make something happen at the end of the shot clock as much.
The shooters will open things up and he will be all the better in the post.
By the end of the season everybody will be hating on Milsap and want him traded.

I'll hate on Millsap if he throws a fit when the day comes for him to accept a bench role. He is a PERFECT 6th man. I just wish he would realize it.

Favors or me number hero jazz. I thinks it's like Sloan again when Ty does not like play younger player. Koc must kick Ty out if favors in on bench. Never make favors mad!!!

Re: Derrick Favors
You know... come to think of it, Sloan would've loved Favors. He woulda played him more than Ty has.
It's a really depressing thought to think about what Sloan could've done with this team... *sigh*

I agree. I don't think he would've played less. Sloan's supposed dislike of playing rookies is one of this franchise's biggest myths.

Very true, Sloan did like vets, but if a rookie was playing well enough they would see minutes.
