So basically the only way to get opening day tix???

Post#1 » by VCRJKidd15 » Mon Sep 24, 2012 2:33 pm

Was to get season tickets? The Nets had 2 different pre-sales and both sales didn't have the opening day game on sale it would show "on sale Monday 10am" Than when this day comes Monday 10am the tix were sold out....What kind of bulls**** is this? Was this the plan the whole time? I waited forever for these tickets to go on sale and when they finally do the one game that was never going to be available was November 1 F*** THIS ****! Yes Mad.

Although I feel your pain and your anger is definitely warranted your actual surprise is a surprise to me, figuring everywhere on Twitter, here and ND everyone was already talking about how these tickets wouldn't even really be offered or available.

Again, don't get me wrong I understand and agree with your actual outrage, just saying this shouldn't have been unexpected is all, whether it's bull **** or not.

Yeah, this really sucked. I guess this is the downside of being a big market team. I've been to opening night for the past few years, and it sucks I won't get to see my favorite time live on opening night for this historic move. The days are over of me being able to go to 10-15 games a year and get great seats for under $20. This sucks.

I don't even think they released any tickets.

Screw it...bout to buy season tickets.

If I'm going to spend $400 on two one game tix, might as well be business savvy and go get the full season tickets and "talk" to people about the games I don't want to go to.

I'm trying to buy tickets for 11/18 Celtics in Brooklyn. I hate ticketmaster.. They just give you ridiculous seats & don't give you exact seat options. I'm hoping that new ticket page the NBA is coming out with soon will fix these issues.

At that price point...over 16K for a pair of tickets.

I have bought packages over the years but I havent had season tickets since the early 90's. I think the last time I had section 7 behind the basket 9 rows back. In the meadowlands these seats were right on top of the court. And they were far enough to the side of the hoops that the view was not obscured at all.

They cost $70 for a PAIR of tickets....lol. That was $2870 for the full season. And parking? It was $6 per game back then. I had a season parking pass so that was another $240. Can you imagine? Parking for the entire year at that price?

Tolls and gas from NY were a lot less too. I want to say that each round trip total was about $12. So lets call that another $500. So everything cost me what? $3600 to sit so close to the court I could hear the players trash talking? Now it will cost us 5 x that before transportation and parking to sit upstairs. Ouch.

Oh no E, I meant the idea was if I'm going to spend $400 for 1 game, I might as well buy season tickets for $2000-3000, not $16K. I ain't balling like that!

I had good seats on the upper deck row 3 for 98 each to the clippers game on ticket master and my friend was like "wait till tomorrow they will still be there" I 100% knew they weren't because i'm not an idiot but I wasn't going to buy 3 tickets if these broke fools weren't going to pay for them and of course checked the next day it was sold out....fml

Idk how it shouldn't have been expected the only tickets they should have sold were season tickets. They never had the tickets for sale during the Pre-Sales so unless they sold 18,000 season tickets I don't understand how these were not even sold at all to the general public

Well they've already sold around 11,000 season tickets last time I saw it reported about a week ago.

Then I was saying there's been a lot of people on ND and Twitter and such who have heard things and it was pretty widespread that the ticket prices for non season ticket holders to just other games throughout the year were horrendous, so it has already been assumed by most that the opening night tickets would cost you a kidney and a car note.

Big market or not, NYC or not, these tickets are offensively expensive figuring that's with no real markup though. Even Knix tickets aren't that much a lot of times.

I remember being a season ticket holder in the mid 2000's, was a great time.

I only did it one season, I also had a few packages over the years, but with the exception of my season tickets I was a buy single game tickets to the one's I wanted to go to guy. Especially cause they were so damn available and cheap even when we were good and had average attendance.

Next year when I'm in better financial shape and not as busy I'm determined to get season tickets in some relatively good seats though.

I'll just put about 15 games online and make a big profit off those and sell some of you guys 5 to 10 games at face value or cost or whatever and go to the rest and reap the benefits for the playoff tickets, upgrades if I so choose and season ticket holder events.

I got tickets today in section 206. Paid way too much for them in relation to the face value. I wasn't missing this for the world though. Any other game, I never pay 50% over face, but this game is different. I wanted lower bowl, but the guys with those tickets are absolute crooks.

I'm telling you Brooklyn will start out being worse than the Garden...we'll see where they are by mid-season when some of the hype falls...I still think they're going hold value and keep selling really strong...but it is absolutely insanity and it doesn't matter what your budget is...

I didn't expect them to be cheap and I didn't really care how much money I would have spent the problem is the Tickets never went on sale at all!

Like I said, I gave up trying to go to the first game, just too damn expensive.

I ended up getting tickets to the Celtics game on the 15th, in the same seats I was looking at for opening night, for a quarter of the price.

StubHub has some good deals for upper bowl, sideline seating, for anyone interested.
