Love breaks hand...out 6-8 weeks

The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost another of their star players before the season even begins.

Kevin Love has a broken right hand and will miss six to eight weeks, the team announced.

That means the Wolves likely will play the first month of season without their two best players, as point guard Ricky Rubio continues to rehabilitate following knee reconstruction.

Love's injury occurred while he was working out on Wednesday, the team said.

The Wolves open the regular season on Nov. 2 against Sacramento.

He still looked like a stretch 4 to me. I think we will be fine. I still think we will be around .500 by the time Love gets back. Every team will face injuries. Golden State will face injuries to Bogut and Curry at some point. Dirk already looks like he will miss games this year. This is why we have depth at the 4. If we didn't have Williams we would not be looking very good.

AK47 - Budinger
Roy - Schved - Lee
JJ - Ridnour

Frankly this is make or break it time for Williams' career. We have plenty of options to hedge against it, but lets just put him in the starting position and see what happens. Not sure where I saw it, but RA liked the Williams/AK combo because of its flexibility. Ideally, Williams does really well and ups his trade value.

Likely what actually happens. Cunningham starts or AK47 slides over to PF and Budinger starts. Both of those guys have done well in the preason and look like real RA guys.

I don't mean to be a downer but when I broke my hand it took a full 8 weeks. Now hopefully with all the treatment, vitamins, diet, and his overall health he can make 6 weeks.
