New York Knicks Medical staff - What gives?

Post#1 » by gethigh » Thu Oct 25, 2012 4:22 am

Getting kind of ridiculous, tbh.

Are all these injuries that are diagnosed as "Sore left knee" that turn out to be much worse just a giant coincidence? Or is this medical staff reaching Portland Trailblazer levels of ineptitude?

How can guys get injured so easily on this team as opposed to other teams like Phoenix and their medical staff.

Are players not properly treated before and after games?
Are players properly stretched?
Are injuries not being diagnosed correctly which then leads to worse injuries down the road?

All the money Dolan throws around, how come he can't put together a quality medical staff?

So do you think the Knicks medical staff is bad or are all these simple injuries that turn into something bigger just a fluke coincidence?

What are "all these injuries"?

It's just Amare that turned out to be worse than expected, and even that was a different injury than the initial one

An injury like amares is probably more common than u think but ignored and treated as knee soreness in most cases. But given amares history of knee injuries the teams to be extra cautious, especially early in the season. If of the postseason he probably would be playing, unless the fire extinguisher gets in the way

^

Yup.

The Lin knee injury he was seen rubbing on the sideline MULTIPLE times before they figured out he needed surgery.

Then they waited another 3 days to announce the MRI results to sell playoff tickets, smh.

Perhaps your issue is with the Knicks PR staff than with the medical team

Lin has had a history of knee problems, but there was no way we were taking him out before we rode him for everything he was worth.

I'm not sure this is incompetence on our staff's part as much as it is pressure on the players to play through injury and MSG's tendency to want to keep things in house and paint a rosy picture to the fans.

We've come a long way from the Norman "The Butcher" Scott years

so strange that the Knicks medical staff hired Gerald Wallace and told him to run into Chandler's knee in a pre season game

that is odd

what gives?

what baffles me is that neither amare or tyson wear knee pads or sleeves just like most big men do now. They should start doing that... it may help prevent injuries

it just looked funny.

Tina: Tyson has left knee soreness
*2 hours later*
Dude is on cruches scheduled for an MRI.

obviously that wasn't the medical staff's fault but it just seemed strange. these "left knee soreness" things seem to blow up rather quickly.

Well, I can understand why fans are a little put off...it'd be nice to see this Knicks squad begin the season with all of the starters intact. At the same time, the Knicks should be able to hold the fort. Again, if the Knicks start the season 5-5 then I would be content. Not happy but content.

The Knicks medical staff/team sucks just as much as Jim Dolan, and was probably picked by Dolan.
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

Tyson explained it at the post game interview though

until he can see a doctor tomorrow, and perhaps have an MRI which is unscheduled right now, he was told to keep weight off it. thus the crutches.

A} the reporting of a sore knee in game and crutches post game has zero to do with the medial staff's competence
B} it seems precautionary but if its not then its a damn tragedy not an opportunity to blame someone

Amare got bumped by copeland.

Tyson had gotten crashed by Crash.

Ronnie is back

JR has a sore ankle.

Camby has always been injury prone.

So how is any of this the training staffs issue?

What are you talking about? If there's one thing Dolan isn't afraid to do is spend money so he hasn't spared any expense to take care of his investment.... just check out his medical staff! They look fine to me....

And it has nothing to do with our medical staff. I think we are just snake bitten and cursed. Some teams never suffer big injuries. We always seem to lose key players at the worst time. And it's going to be killer even though it's the start of the season. Lose the first 2 games to BK and Miami and just imagine the chaos and depressoion. It's going to get very ugly very quick.
