Westbrook not PG

Post#1 » by kmav23 » Fri Nov 2, 2012 3:53 am

Westbrook needs to be moved to SG

Thunder would be much better team with Pure PG

He does not have brains/instincts for PG

get the ball to Durant.... his a ball hog lost the game

He either cant or wont give Durant the ball

He does not know how to close off a game... up by 3 turns it over many times then lets parker score

Pusbrook sucks. You guys are going to be sorry you let Harden go. Pusbrook was the one you should've traded. Did you see how he screwed up on that last play? He completely lost sight of Parker.

your pg needs to have brain/instinct

unfortunately Harden was a better PG/all round player then Westbrook

It's starting to become clear what a poor decision it was to not even CONSIDER trading chuckbrook.

Because the guy doesn't make anyone on his team better, he is most certainly not a top 5 pg. He's his accolades, and nothing more. His mpg allow him to rack up huge numbers, but he doesn't win games, he blows games. And now, the Thunder is a team without a true Playmaker. They will be extremely lucky to get back to the conference finals. Westbrook, IMO, had a fraction as much trade value as Harden. I think the rest of league/GM's see right through him. His numbers are inflated by his mpg. He isn't a player that can be trusted. It's awfully sad. Harden was mature, calm, instinctive, and unselfish. Presti, if he could have traded Westbrook instead, made his first huge mistake of his career. I think even if Westbrook brings significantly less in trade return, he should've traded him instead of Harden. I had been saying that for two years now.

-Denver won't trade Andre Miller to a rival

-Thunder will probably make a deal before the deadline, probably trade Perkins,Martin and the return of Toronto's pick for Bargs and Calderon's expiring deal.

-If the Thunder make it to the Finals again and lose; at that point Westbrook will be traded, most likely involving a deal where the Thunder trade Westbrook and the Houston pick for Mike Conley and Monta Ellis in a three team deal with the Bucks and with Marc Gasol going to the Bucks.

Monta Elis is not even close to Westbrook right now. Why would OKC make a dumb move like this?

Nets fan here, KD fan 2nd. Just like to chime in on this subject.

Russell Westbrick is so frustrating at times to watch. I keep hoping its a maturity issue, but it doesn't seem like he is trying to correct it in the least bit. Russell needs someone like a Phil Jackson, or a Jerry Sloan (old school coach) to calm him down and get in his face at the same time. I don't think Russell respects Brooks at all. Scott Brooks strikes me as a players coach, nicey nicey type. Until Brooks becomes more of a disciplinarian, Russell will continue to lose sight of simple task at crucial times (see last night defense on Parker's buzzer beater). It's way to early for panic though. Luckily, it's a full season this time around. Hopefully, he learns and get's better as time progresses.

Back to the topic, no, he is not your prototypical PG he is more of the hybrid type which makes him more unique of a player. He just needs for his game to evolve a little more; it's more than overdue. There really is no need to trade him because of how he can create shots, etc like no other PG in the league. The Thunder would be foolish to trade him for someone with a lesser skill-set in my opinion.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

I dont think westbrook sucks . Not really an okc fan but I have watched them alot. He would be a lot better if he tried to be the best pg in the league instead of trying to be the best player on the team.

Mike Conley and Monta Ellis are worth Westbrook right now....

Ellis also comes off the books after next season if for some weird reason he started to suck and Conley is a top 7 defensive PG in the league.

Also we have never seen Ellis on a championship caliber team ,look at Gasol once he reached the Lakers...

Continue to be baffled by the fact that OKC traded away a talent like James Harden.

Let's look back to what I said the other day:

Shem wrote:I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but if I had to choose between Westbrook and Harden, I would choose Harden. Westbrook isn't a point guard and OKC was last in the NBA last season in team assist-per-game. And I believe the Thunder could have gotten more value out of trading Westbrook than Harden.

What OKC needed to look into is getting a guy who can score from the inside. There is just too much one-on-one guys trying to score from the perimeter. And I think they would have had a better chance of getting that by trading Westbrook. That would have created more opportunity for Harden as a starting 2-guard, especially if the Thunder had a point guard who was a good distributor.

And I said that on October 28. ;)

While I agree.... lets wait til the full season unfolds before we start congratulating ourselves.
