KOTB entry: Boston & Milwaukee.

Post#1 » by j_angel » Wed Nov 28, 2012 11:59 am

"If you believe all teams would accept this trade, vote yes. If you believe otherwise, vote no. Please explain your vote."

Celtics receive: Mbah a Moute, Udoh, Bucks 2nd round pick.
Celtics trade: Lee, Melo, Collins, 2013 first (lotto protected - likely to be around 18-21)

Bucks receive: Lee, Melo, Collins, Bostons 1st round pick.
Bucks trade: Mbah a Moute, Udoh, future second round pick.

Why?

The CELTICS get some bigman depth and consolidate a few assets. LRMAM would be a great defensive player to have in the rotation behind Pierce and Udoh is another capable bigman that still has some upside (can learn from KG). Both are on reasonable contracts so can be moved on if this doesnt work out for them. Also means that Boston can move on Green and not lose depth at SF and PF.

Rondo, Barbosa
Bradley, Terry
Pierce, Green, Mbah a Moute, Joseph
Bass, Sullinger, Udoh
Garnett, Wilcox

The BUCKS get a third guard to complement Jennings and Ellis. Lee is a different player and a better defender. He also has size which Milwaukee need in the backcourt. Lee and Jennings is a nice backcourt if they decide to move Ellis.

Jennings, Udrih
Ellis, Lee, Lamb, Daniels
Harris, Dunleavy
Ilyasova, Gooden
Dalembert, Sanders, Henson

no, boston is not gonna move green as his value is practically 0.
milwaukee doesnt need another guard and would be better of keeping lrmam

Not enough value for Milwaukee.

Holy crap thats bad for Milwaukee. They are giving up the two best players in the deal.

I like it for milwaukee

Boston's first will be in low twenties, not a bad asset
Melo can be stashed in nbdl, ok asset to develop, might be nothing down the road, might turn into solid defensive player.
Lee is a nice compliment to their backcourt, though not really needed atm with udrih playing well. But monta's trade could come before the deadline or they could lose I'm for nothing.
LRMBAM is not really all that needed with the emergence of Harris and great pkay by Dunleavy. They clear a Logjam at wing. Udoh is obviously just one of many similar players in their frontcourt.

I'm on the fence for Boston.
They could use Udoh as they desperately need some help on the defensive end when KG sits, so Udoh might have more value to Boston then other teams. Would match with Sullinger well.
LRMBAM is a solid wing player, but there's no time there while Green is in Boston.
Boston can wheather the loss of Lee with Terry, Barbosa and Bradley, though Lee has 2-3 inches on all of them.
Melo is not really in plan this year.

Just make it Lee for Udoh and it makes more sense for boston. Not really interested in the pick and melo for lrmbam part.

The deal does not involve Green. Should not say no on because I mentioned him in the reasoning.

Even though the Celtics are giving up the best player in the deal (by just a little bit), I think the Celtics need to give up a bit more for LRMAM and Udoh. I also don't think the Celtics need either of them much. I say both sides decline.

As a Boston fan I can absolutely tell you we need some defensive bigs from the bench.

Bass and Sully are average defenders and Wilcox isnt much of a defender either.
If the second unit had LRMAM & Udoh I think we would greatly benefit.

well done, approved....and I will keep my fingers crossed for a big injury to one of Boston's big 3 to move that pick higher for the Bucks.
