Could Asik/Dwight coexist?

We all know that Morey is going to make a push for Dwight in Free Agency this coming offseason, but I don't think that they have any intention of moving Asik, either to the bench or another team.

Could a Twin Tower pairing of Asik & Dwight work? Personally I think that the players different strengths would play well off of the others' weaknesses.

Would there not be enough ball to go around with a lineup of Lin/Harden/Parsons/Dwight/Asik?

Dwight requires some versatility next to him, Asik would definitely be the complete opposite of that. If Asik keeps it up his trade value is going to be pretty high come the end of the season IF there is any possible chance that this organization can make a push for Dwight. I think he's already made up his mind, but we'll see.

If we get Dwight I'd expect Asik to get moved. I believe his contract would still count as an 8.5M cap hit each year so IMO his contract will be easily movable.

Dwightmare being here in the 1st place is a huge yes. He is prefect for this team.
and We sell him on the fact that this would be his team, no more being Kobe's lil sidekick.
His goofy personality would fit right along on this team.
It would be like if we put Asik & Smith into one body and gave it a louder personality...


I'm tired of this "new" league and this new notion that everyone needs to play this stretch 4... **** that!
Lets pack the paint with as much man meat as possible and destroy teams from the inside out!

We have the coach who should be able to utilize them together in McHale he knows about playing with another post player. It worked out for them.

Not like Duncan/Robinson didn't work either.

DRob was more a face-up/mid-range offensive player though AND Duncan had the versatility to play either inside or outside, too.

I don't think we'd have a problem with Asik and Dwight defensively - both are mobile and active enough that it wouldn't be a problem at all with both on the floor (though we could have issues with a stretch 4)...But offensively, both guys are strict "paint" guys, and don't have the capability to score outside (and when I mean outside, I mean outside just 5 feet). I think Dwight and his teams are most effective when there's spacing next to him...not to mention it would be a hackfest with having two of the worst FT shooters in the league at the 4/5.

And Harden needs space too. It wouldn't be a problem for stretches of a game, but for extended periods of time, I think we'd be better served trading Asik for someone that could provide a better fit.

But this would be a problem, I'd LOVE to have.

Those two will crush opposing bigs into pulp and grab rebound like crazy, total domination of the paint. Meanwhile parsons will rrain down 3 like there is tomorrow assured, there will always be second chances. Lol
If asik can acquire jumper by the end of season or the start of next season we can move him to 4

I'm convinced that Dwight is not a winner. He whines and the big prominent big guys always break down at the worst moment... I like Asik, unless they get paid the same amount... as long as Asik is cheaper I'll take Asik.

Dwight has made it to a finals, better than what we've seen from this franchise since the days of Dream.

I am against spending money for Dwight. He doesn't work with Asik and he's not worth the max:

Assuming Dwight comes back to 18-20 points a game, 10-12 boards a game, 2-3 blocks, 3-5 turnovers, negligible amount of steals, he's basically 8-10 points and 1-2 blocks more a game than Asik. He'll ask for a max, which means he'll cost 14 million more than Asik, whom mostly does the same thing without the management headaches. Between Asik and Greg Smith, you'll get almost the same statistical output. And I don't think you should keep Asik and Dwight on the same team because they basically have the same game. Versatility is important and a backup should give the team offensive/defensive options compared to the starter.

I'm not sure if Dwight is worth a max anymore, especially with his bad back and his lack of free throw shooting. We drove a ticker tape parade through said loop hole to a victory about 3 weeks ago. He's therefore not a forth quarter offensive option. Asik is actually a better fourth quarter option because he nails his fts at a better clip. Dwight's ego cannot handle that. I think if you get Dwight you're going to have to trade Asik for someone else, because they have basically duplicate games. If you add a piece, I think getting some versatility is important.

I do think Demarcus Cousins just parked his dumb ass on the market too. This makes things more interesting down the road for other teams. I think our center rotation is competetes very well defensively with the rest of the league, and ranges from average to very good depending on the scoring output of Greg Smith.

It's our forward and point guard and backup C slots (unless Smith fits that, but I see him as a PF) that need work. Asik is perfectly fine for starting C, imo.
