Off the charts ball movement with Nash

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Tue Jan 1, 2013 11:01 pm

found this tweet by mike trudell pretty interesting:

Mike Trudell @LakersReporter

The Spurs lead the NBA w/25.5 assists per game. Since Nash returned, LAL avg'ing 28.3 apg (3-1 record). They were at 20.3 w/out Nash.

if the lakers can keep this type of unselfish smart basketball up, offense should be unstoppable once they're moving as one.

anywho, wanted to create this thread as an excuse to say how enjoyable it is to watch the lakers when nash is orchestrating the offense.

funny I had looked up that exact average two days ago and compared it to the Spurs. It's really not surprising though since Nash is running the point instead of Kobe. Also the average went down a point or two after Pau was out so having him backed helped it a lot as well, since Nash and Pau basically provide us with 15apg together since they've been back.

Nash = God!!! No denying that.

Watching him orchestrate things the few games he's been back has been nothing short of awesome!

We've come to expect greatness from our other god Kobe but he's been every bit as amazing if not more so than Nash and he's been doing it the whole year.

Blessed fans are we!!!!

Now if Dwight's health can just improve slightly we should be able to really start piling up the W's. (he did look like he was moving significantly better last game than he has all season prior to that. Hopefully a sign of things to come)

With Nash out this has caused ouroffense to sputter which imho has forced our defense to also struggle to get stops. With the ball moving much better on offense I expect our opponents to have significantly less energy on the other end of the court. This should dramatically help out defense. Theoretically anyway.

Happy New Year everyone! It's been a few days since we've had a game so I'm really looking forward to tonight's matchup. Hopefully out momentum from Friday'a game carries over.

Have an awesome day everyone! Goooo Lakers!
Sometimes being wrong is awesome!!! :D

I'm tempted to go searching for the fountain of youth just so I could get some of that for Steve Nash. The man is phenomenal.

nash makes kobe more lethal off the ball play, they have no idea what hes gonna do? lob to d12, pnr with pau or just launch a 3p. he seriously makes it appear as if its 6v5

This is the type of ball movement Gasol has been wanting. Since Nash has been back Gasol is averaging around 5ast himself. Watching the games it seems like more though.

This is what happens when Kobe can't molest the offense, all that said we have to position our bigs near the basket better and that average will jump some more.

Awesome to hear.

6-2 = still a lot that is going right. We can't expect perfection just because we were so awful before December 18th.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!
