Jazz 3rd team?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo12 » Wed Jan 30, 2013 4:57 am

Supposedly Raptors/Memphis close to a rudy gay trade but need a 3rd team...how about this 1

Jazz get Calderon and Bargnani for Milsap/Marvin Williams/Bell
Raptors get Gay , bell, and Arthur for Calderon/Bargnani/ed davis
Memphis get Millsap/davis/Marvin Williams for Gay and Arthur

Not sure why Memphis does it unless they really want to unload Gays contract.
Jazz need Calderon and can resign him (I prefer Lowry) and Jazz get Bargnani (I think he could still be a star)
Raptors get Gay and Arthur make out the best
Play with the Pass, Play with a Purpose, and Play with Pace along with Obvious Unselfishness....Coach Snyder says the sky is purple than Jazz players say nice purple sky! LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIENTIST!!!!

I agree but something makes me think this we should be the 3rd.
Milsap is the one who unfortunetly would be more valuable for the Raptors or Grizzlies.
Calerdon i rate and think would fit well in our system and but keep Mo as well. I know he is a bit older now but his days with Cavs remind me this bloke can play.

Ideally for the Jazz would be to send Bell and Watson and maybe Evans depending on salaries. Move Burks to shooting guard when Claderon on floor and Haywood shooting guard and in Mo doesn't re-sign we have him for our point guard.

i don't see the point in taking calderon unless the jazz want him for the future and willing to give him a new contract. at most, we are looking at a first round exit with or without him and then his contract is up, just like mo's. so unless the jazz want to sign him for a few more years (on a smaller contract obviously) he doesn't make much sense. if he's willing to sign on a 3 year 12-15M deal, i wouldn't mind getting him, as long as he is willing to transition from a starter to first PG off the bench while he is mentoring younger PG we get through the draft.

memphis is looking to shed salary, so marvin doesn't make sense for them since he is likely to opt in on his 7.5M option. they are looking for draft picks and rookie contracts, which is what they will get from the raptors - probably ed davis and a 1st round pick.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Jazz trade for Calderon and half the fan base freaks out that the Jazz didn't get some all-star and are content with a first round playoff exit.
