Hey guys!

Post#1 » by nbasuperstar40 » Tue Feb 19, 2013 1:22 am

My name is nbasuperstar40,

I been on message board break for almost a year now. This is my first post on realgm. First thing is first.

I am all about building a contender and putting the team in an area to win that exclusive ring.

Here is my list of needs for the Hawks to become a contender and I will give you my opinion on our core players.

Needs
1. #1 option scorer who is a legit all around stud. Hate to say it but a superstar.
2. PnR PG who has playmaking ability
3. True Center with starting potential or is a legit starting center.

Teague- Talented player, poor natural PG skills, Very good defender for position, makes defensive plays, very good man defender, poor PnR defender, average team defender, average BBIQ, below average passer, poor PnR playmaking skills, good at getting his own offense with the PnR. Potential: Above Average PG.

Horford- Very talented player, mechanical post moves, versatile, elite movement player, elite PnR player, very good mid range shooter, runs the court extremely well, good man defender, elite team defender, average help side defender, elite BBIQ. Potential: Best PF in the NBA.

Smith- Extremely talented player, elite athletic, runs the well, has decent post skills, good PnR defender, elite defensive BBIQ, extremely flawed player, terrible decision maker, poor shot selection, poor ball handler and ball security skills, extremely inconsistent, defensive anchor, rarely box out, unaware of his limitations. Potential: Top 5 PF in the NBA.

The rest are role players that are solid.

I do think we should only trade Smith for an offer that gets us our needs talent wise or gives us good lottery picks. Other then that, I rather he walks. Remember, nothing is better than something in the NBA.

Anyway, hi!

Small amendment.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

The Teague description is just....wrong. I agree, above average point, but to set his playmaker skills as below average and his passing below average. His defense is also quite average (a huge step up after the horribleness that was Lue and Bibby before him).

I like his man defense. I don't like his team defense since he can be unaware at times and his PnR defense  to say the least. I think he is an average PG with potential to be above average.

Welcome to the fold, friend. A couple of thoughts:

I love AL, but have doubts he'll truly become the best PF in the game. He needs to better develop his post game to become a more consistent scoring option in tight games.

Overall, I'd say your assessments are pretty accurate.

Look forward to conversing with you in the future.

O.J. Mayo turned out to be what I said he was overall. I liked him playing PG not because of his PG skills which aren't good but his scoring ability v. NBA PG's than v. NBA SG's. I never prepped him as a great PG prospect, just a great overall talent who could be a superstar in the right situation. Still not a fan of him playing SG. He's good at it but he could be so much more efficient at PG but then again, he's very efficient right now so...

This is not #1 pick. I am nbasuperstar40/Joker though. They gave me like ten warnings at Hawksquawk. I was trying to get banned. I was somewhat addiction to that site and extremely pissed off at the Hawks.

I don't think his post game will ever be much better than it is now. That's not his skill-set.

Well that was a short lived reappearance. Did he actually piss someone off in less than a day or did they find out that he was indeed #1pick (though I don't remember him getting banned under that name)?

C'mon mods, dish the inside dirt.
