Per the wiretap, Mayo may very well be on our radar next offseason as a free agent target. How do you feel about that?

Honestly, I'm not crazy about either Mayo or Calderon being here next season....so I voted for Knight/lottery pick.

Knight / cheap fa
Lottery pick / English
FA / Singler / Middleton
Monroe / Jerebko
Drummond / Drummond
...plus we'd also have two 2nd rounders to add depth.

I think Mayo is going to get overpaid and i'm really hoping it isn't by Detroit.
i hope we resign Calderon on a 2 yr deal and keep some cap space open for a possible trade.
Run Calderon / Knight / Singler and see how the high tax teams fair at the start of the season.
Ideally Denver look to dump W Chandler. :) That would be nice.

Knight/Iguadala: Knight and Mayo are too similar for me. If we are giving Knight another chance at PG, I think a facilitator like Iggy next to him is a better fit.

Man hell no!!. dVs, your letting those lame dudes on pistonpowered.com get to your head...Singler sucks bro, I would be pissed we started the season with that bogus dude in the starting line-up...

I think our first option should be Knight+Mayo(or any other proven talent) and our second option should be Knight+Lottery Pick(weak draft)...

I can see a lot of teams waiting for 2014 and going after lebron and co. Mayo is worth 4 years 56 mill.

Mayo is a fantastic playmaking SG. He's a perfect fit here.

Thats the most I would be willing to offer. It's definitely overpaying but we need to make a splash this summer so I'm okay overpaying for a guy who brings exactly what we need.

I'll take Calderon + Evans, w/ Knight as combo guard off bench.

I'd rather have Calderon back than Mayo, if we had to choose. And then I think we can still find an upgrade over Knight at SG with Evans or Tony Allen in FA.

None of these FA guards are worth big money. The only realistic FA that I'd be ok spending big money on would be Josh Smith. His production would justify it. These guards like Mayo, Ellis, Evans etc don't produce like a big money player should. But at least with Evans, I don't think he's going to cost big money, and still has potential to produce like a star. So if we can get him for a reasonable 7-8 mil/yr it would be a fair deal.

Worst thing about this is that it looks (on paper) a lot like Knight/Stuckey, which didn't work. It does have potential though, especially if we can trade Stuckey.

Who would you have run the offense? It's easy to argue that Tyreke looked better running the point in his ROY season than Knight ever has. I have a nagging feeling that the Kings moved him to SG too early. Plus, Knight is a better deep threat and would help spread the floor better than Tyreke.

No he isn't. And only options...

1) Calderon + draft pick
2) draft pick + anyone that isn't Mayo or Knight

Calderon Knight, Draft Otto Porter
Sign Tyreke Evans
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

This is tough because I'm not crazy about any of the FA SGs, but I'd take almost any combo that doesn't involve Calderon being our starting PG again.

That guy can't defend anything, we need to start embracing defense again.

Preference 1) Put Knight back at PG, draft the best wing (preferably an SG like McLemore, Shabazz or Oladipo) and then sign Iggy and go with Knight/Bazz(Oladipo)/Iggy/Monroe/Drummond.

Preference 2) Knight at PG, draft Porter (He's really good but I'd rather have Iggy I think), sign either Redick or Mayo (whoever we can get a better deal for, although I'd rather have Mayo) and have a lineup of Knight/Mayo(Redick)/Porter/Monroe/Drummond.

Preference 3) If Porter/Bazz/Oladipo and McLemore are all gone, draft Trey Burke, leave Knight at SG (or sign an SG and bring him off the bench as the 6th man) and then sign Iggy and have Burke/Knight/Iggy/Monroe/Drummond.
