End of season grades

Post#1 » by omaro34 » Tue Apr 9, 2013 1:08 am

Now that the season is pretty much over, how would you grade everybody?

BC---He needs to go, everybody has been wanting this man gone for years. Signing Fields with that awful contract took the cake. Overall Grade: F

Casey: Baffling subsitutions. Pound the Rock and get worse. We are, Raptors basketball. Overall: F

Bargnani: Soft. Lazy. Can't rebound or play help D. I'de rather have Solomon Alabi on my squad than this scrub. Overall: F

Demar: His offensive game improved, but his defense is turrible. Its worse than Jose's "right this way" meme. Overall: C-

Air Aaron Gray: He is in the NBA because of his size. Nothing else. He can set good screens too. But he's also a sloth, super slow. I still remember when he tried to double on Kobe during that crucial game, and he easily got blown by. Overall: D -

Amir Johnson: This guy has improved, and he's a workhorse. He rebounds well, runs the floor well, and he's a hustler. He's a guy any team would love to have. I'm very impressed with him this year. Overall: A-

JV: He is showing signs of what could be. He's a big man with a great touch around the basket. Love what I'm seeing. He works very hard. But he needs to get stronger, and a couple of counter post moves in the low block wouldn't hurt. But he's only 20, and I'm excited as to what he will be in 4 or 5 years. Overall: A

Terrence Ross: He won the slam dunk contest, but he hasn't been playing up to what he should be doing since the all star break. Sometimes he doesn't try on defense, and he's a very streaky shooter. One night he's hot, and the next he's building a brick house. Overall: C

Turd: Chucker and a midget. Overall: D-

Anderson: "Chuck until our arms peel off" Ballhog. Overall: D

Rudy: Mr. Inefficient. Overall: B

Fields: D

Pietrus: F

Kleiza: F

Telfair: C

Lowry: B-

Acy: C

BC: F (we didn't make the playoffs again and too many frantic moves that made no sense)
Casey: F (I don't even know where to begin. Only way I can see a positive is if my name is Alan Anderson. When people ask me to summarize his coaching style, I refer them to the Kobe-Gray play)
Lowry: C- (Not sure what happened to him. I'm thinking and hoping it was just our coaching staff/management)
Demar: C- (Didn't show me any improvement this year in defense, taking good shots and making 3's)
Gay: B- (Played well but he can be so much better on offense - ill give him a year to acclimatize)
Amir: A (He did everything he could for us - nights he takes off are few and far between. Proud to say he's on our team)
Val: B+ (given the coaches lack of faith in him and lack of touches, I was very happy with how he performed this year)
Bargs: D (injuries and then when he was healthy he was invisible most times. No sign of improvement)
AA: C (Coach misused this guy and put him in that hero role. He played good D and won us a few games. But he was a net negative when its all said and done. A big one. not that I didn't expect it from a DLeaguer)
JL3: D (Too much chucking for a PG - if your shot isn't falling, PASS THE BALL)
Landry: C+ (too inconsistent. His contract aside he had some good games for us, but needs to work on his shot)
Gray: C+ (misused like a lot of our other guys. Good to have against slow physical centers - not good when used to guard Kobe Bryant)
Acy: B+ (not much to expect from a BC second rounder but he showed me he may one day be a solid backup PF for this team. Love his work ethic and game - just need to cut down on fouls)
Ross: C+ (misused by Casey - he's been efficient but never settled in. I expect much more next year with hopefully a new coach)
Kleiza: Where in the world is Linas Kleiza?
Pietrus: C+ (didn't do much of anything, but got me excited for a few days when we signed him and is a good personality in our lockerroom)
Bassy: C (some nights good, other nights not so much. On the fence in terms of wanting to re-sign)

BC: F ( tries but fails time to take it out to a forest and bury it forever)
Casey: F ( can't even teach defence players have tuned him out great coordinator terrible HC)
Bargs: F. ( don't think primo pasta wants him anymore tenure should be done get whatever you can)
Demar: C+ ( bettered his offensive game but defensively no real improvement)
JV: A- ( really like what he brings an all around game and effort but has obviously weak and it can get exposed)
Amir: A- ( has been very efficient and has brought what we need, however can foul too much at times)
Ross: C. ( Really like his tools but did not come as advertised hopefully this offseason he improves a lot)
Fields: C+ ( brings everything but scoring, hopefully his shot comes around and he could be a very good player)
Gray: D+( what you see is what you get slow, lethargic player but would show up at spotty times during the year)
Pietrus: F ( don't really understand why we picked him besides one decent game he was bench fodder)
Kleiza: F ( should have been amnestied before the season at some point he was regulated to bench commander)
Telfair: C ( looks like a guy who could run a second unit decent shooting and quickness)
Lowry: C+ ( amazing start a player we thought was top 10 pg but got neutered and stayed that way)
Rudy: B ( flashes of an a,zing all around player, however too inefficient at times needs to get better 3p%)
Acy: C. ( like what he can bring energy, toughness a guy you want in a real fight size will hinder him though)
Lucas: D+ ( couple good games can be a spark plug at times but not a good backup option)
Anderson: F ( overly cocky, inefficient for a guy who has "experience" could be serviceable if he would just take open shots, chucks way too much)

Hope it looks ok

Only Amir deserves an A and that's by a wide margin.

Pretty much, yeah. No playoffs for the 5th straight year, no draft pick, an incompetent coach, the worst GM in the NBA, and evidence that this team lacks a core. Welcome to Raptors basketball.

Everyone gets an F except for JV and Amir.

Casey needs to be fired and Colangelo can go with him.

The rest of the team are scrubs, but that's not a big deal.

Overall team rating: F

We're capped out, have just one prospect, and are set to middle around 30-40 wins for the next 2 years.

Return to Toronto Raptors
