Love Trade Ideas

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Wed Apr 24, 2013 10:56 pm

So there is probably a minute possibility we trade Love this off season. It certainly wouldn't shock me at this point.

if we had to trade him anywhere, doesn't Washington make the most sense??

Who says no?

MN OUT/WAS IN: Love + Luke
MN IN/WAS OUT: Beal + Okafor (or *Nene)

Rubio/Barea
Beal/Shved
AK/Budinger
Williams/Cunningham
Pekovic/Okafor

*If Nene then he probably starts at the 4 and plays back up 5 minutes.

No, just because I dont approve of trading Love for smaller pieces.

Though I would hate to do business with a division rival, Ibaka makes sense for us. Perfect fit next to Pekovic.

Would also put Faried in that category

Once we know the picks I wonder if we could tack on each team's first rounder. I think that would help to balance it out more. I think Nene/Beal is poor value for Love, and we could certainly ask for more. I would not do it for Okafor. Nene probably can't play next to Pek, but Emeka definitely cannot.

I'd question the need to bring back Pek on a big contract then. Just draft Len and move forward. I'd also command picks swap or even their pick back in this deal. And no to Nene.

I can't see our owner moving him, Adelman wouldn't let that happen.

If we are throwing out division rivals what about Love and Ridnour for LMA and Matthews from POR?

Does POR say no? I have to think they value Wes on a reasonable contract, and maybe they see Love as only a marginal upgrade over LaMarcus. I would do this deal in a heartbeat.

All of these trades are an insult to Kevin Love.

Good, it's about time the insults went the other way.

sanders, ilyasova and number 15, 43

for love, ridnour and number 9, 59

ilyasova is on a friendly contract at 8 million per year. we'd have to pay sanders after next year at which time you can trade he or pek for an upgrade at the 2 guard. carves quite a bit off our cap figure for this off season.

Not butt hurt. Just tired of a guy being paid $15M a year whining like a spoiled brat all the time.

I want Beal and Ibaka back somehow.

So lets do him a favor and trade him way below his value! That will teach him to not mess with us!

...or trading him before he leaves us for nothing. Nothing < "Below value". Not saying he will for sure, but just saying.

Kevin Love is the best PF's in the game. He's proved it. Is there any guarantee that Beal will even be in the Top 5 SG's?

I don't mind talking about trading any player, but this is a tragic undersell. If you really want to get rid of Love, ay least wait until next year's trade deadline, when he's reminded everyong why he was the NBA's #2 guy staistically in 2010-11, and 2011-12.

However I'd prefer to keep him. We barely see the Rubio-Shved-Ak-Love-Pek combo. Healthy this group (in paper) could do wonders.
