questions about tulsa

Post#1 » by NBA Fan 1234 » Tue May 14, 2013 2:18 am

so i will be staying in tulsa (roughly in midtown) over the summer (internship; don't want to give too many details) and have a few questions

1) what is a good gym to go to? i have a few in mind, but am leaning towards sky-fitness. i don't think the price is too outrageous considering i will have access to all the classes and crossfit at the south location. however, i am open to other gyms if they can offer a similar price *with crossfit included*.
2) cox? i already know i will be getting my tv/internet from them as they have an agreement or something with the housing complex i will be staying in. i will be getting the advanced tv and internet preferred. is the internet good for xbox live?

i think that is really it. any help is appreciated. thanks!

go thunder.

I've had a membership at Lifetime South Tulsa/Bixby (About 1 mile away from Sky Fitness South-Tulsa), and i also use Cox.

Sky is a nice gym (Used to be a member) but Lifetime offers many more activities (Pools, basketball hoops, rock climbing, etc.).

Cox is the best IMO.

I don't think it's 100$ per month. I think $50-60 for 1 person a month and 150$ for family.

Prices may vary as they sell you the membership face to face, if you don't like a price you can probably negotiate it and say you've seen cheaper prices other places.

Most people pay around $50 i think though.

im trying to find more info online but am having a hard time. most of the things i am finding are for family prices...so i requested pricing. maybe they'll have a student discount of some kind? if it's $50, i may end up going there (depending also on the initial sign fee).

how busy do the courts get? would i have to bring my own basketball?

this place looks absolutely incredible. i'd be fine without the crossfit classes if i ended up here haha.

The courts can get busy depending on times you go, but one side is strictly for shooting and the other is for games (If there are no games then they are both shooting courts). It isn't busy in the mornings usually and maybe starts to fill up around 1 (weekends) and around 3:30-5 (weekdays).
You can get a 2 week trial i think (Or get money back before 2 weeks, maybe both..?) They'll give you a tour of the place, but is really is a great gym.

You don't have to bring your own basketball as they are provided, but some people don't like theres and bring there own. They do sort of feel weird, but i don't care.
