The Indians have placed Chris Perez on the disabled list with right shoulder soreness.
It marks the first time the 27-year-old has been on the DL in his career.
Perez felt stiff while warming up Sunday and was forced out of the day's game against the Red Sox.
He said that he had "been dealing with a little thing for the last couple of weeks, but we stayed on top of it and it had been getting better. But [Sunday] it took a couple steps back."
