MIN/CLE

Assuming the Wolves want to do a rebuild

Wolves get: #1/Thompson
Cavs get: Love

Why Wolves - They can start there rebuild - Draft McLemore and resign Pekovic

Rubio/McLemore/Dwill/Thompson/Pekovic - Nice young core

Why Cavs - Been stated that they want to contended this year

Irving/Waiters/FA/Love/Varejao

Except the Wolves have no intension of starting to rebuild... Clearly a no from the Wolves who would need to be blown away to trade Love, something this offer does not do.

If the Wolves want to do a rebuild by trading Love, hopefully they actually take one of the decent deals that will come up, as opposed to this one.

If Wolves did a Love to Cavs trade it wouldn't be for this package.

Try #1, Waiters, Varejao, 2 Future 1st with limited protections, and more then likely Cavs take Barea too.

Wolves would ideally S&T Pek (or let walk for Capspace) and use Varejao as vet C until Noel ready (then trade NG contract for more assets).

Young Core:
C-#1 Noel
PF-DWill
SF-#9 (Shabazz?)
SG-Waiters

#1, Waiters, and TT
for
Love and Barea

that's actually not too bad.

Gives Kyrie a guy to lean on, gives the Wolves a young core to build with around Rubio.

Kyrie/Barea
Jamal Franklin (#19)/Ellington
(FA- Iguodala, Dunleavy, etc)
Love/Speights
Varejao/Zeller

Rubio/Ridnour
Waiters/Shved
AK47/Shabazz (#9)
TT/D.Williams
Pekovic/Noel

It'd take more than that for Love:
Love & Barea for #1, #19, Thompson, #31 & #31.

Cavaliers
Irving/Barea
Waiters/Ellington
?
Love/Speights
Varejao/Zeller

Wolves
Rubio/Ridnour
McLemore(#1)/Shved
Kirilenko/Budinger
Thompson/Williams
Pekovic/Stiemsma

Then Wolves have #9, #19, #26, #31, #33 to play with and target guys like Noel, Len, Porter.

Good luck getting more then the #1 pick in a draft and a good young big like Thompson for a player that clearly has his bags packed and can't stay on the court.

The #1 in a draft with no top level prospects. And the Wolves already have a highly drafted, disappointing young PF on their team from the 2011 draft.

Cavs clearly say hell no to this. The OP is a bit too little for Minnesota though.

Your newly revised Wolves starting lineup puts an enormous amount of pressure for a rookie to be the primary scorer on an offensively challenged unit. Not sure if McLemore is capable. Probably, more incline to do the Williams + 9 to acquire McLemore (+ filler).

Cavs clearly say hell no to this. The OP is a bit too little for Minnesota though.

Then Cavs don't get KLove! Look at the Melo, Deron, even KG deal for bench mark on what KLove would get in return (from Cavs or anyone). Package includes:
1) Young promising player currently on roster: Waiters (or TT as others have mentioned)
2) Expiring contract(s) and/or cap relief/space: Varejao
3) Draft pick in current year and future pick(s)

The Nets will send Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, two first-round draft picks and cash considerations to Utah for the All-Star point guard. The Jazz will get New Jersey's first-round pick this year, which is not lottery protected, and Golden State's first-round pick, which is partially protected, next year. That selection is top-seven protected in 2012 and 2013 and top-six protected in 2014. If Utah has not received the pick by the 2014 draft, then the Jazz will receive Golden State's own 2014 and 2016 second-round picks.

As a part of the deal for Anthony, the Knicks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash, the sources said. Along with Anthony, New York would get Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman from Denver.

Boston Celtics acquire Kevin Garnett from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff (expiring), Sebastian Telfair, a 2009 first round draft pick (top three protected) and a return of Minnesota's conditional first round draft pick.

Source on the "bags packed" statement.

Even IF Love has "bags packed" that doesn't hurt his trade value. Look at both Melo and Deron. They were WAY, WAY more determined to "pack bags" and get out of town. They fetched a trade package not affected by this stance.

So if anything, Love who has not been as vocal as those two players will fetch a very similar (or arguably better package based on age, contract, skill set) then those 2 players did.

If you`re insisting on comparing with the Deron package, the initial offer really only lacks a furter lotto pick to be just as good. We got the current 3rd pick in Favors. This deal is offering you the 4th pick from two years ago. We got the Nets` pick and lucked into the 3rd pick that got us Kanter. You`re offered the #1. We also got the GSW pick, that they managed to tank any value out of. Devin Harris did not really have any value at all.

So pretty much #1, Thompson and #19 or Heat/King future pick...

#1,Thompson, AV (can be moved for another pick easily by MIN) and 19th is fair.

Rubio, McClemore, Ak, Thompson, Pek lineup with AV(or pick), Bud, and Dwill coming off the bench is a very good young line up. Add in #9,19, and Memphis pick add you are looking at a very solid young team.

If Cavs want to keep AV, then throw in the future Sac pick and it still works evenly.

I really don't see Love wanting to come to a depleted Cavs roster and not being just as eager to leave as he was/is with Minnesota. Doesn't make much sense for the Cavs to me. Might as well stick with the conservative growth. Maybe go after Pekovic as a free agent.
