Warriors trade rj and green
Warriors receive patterson and outlaw
Kings trade patterson and outlaw
Kings get rj and green
Why for the warriors. They take on the extra yr of outlaw but get their back up pf.
Why for the king. Rj could fill the sf hole for a season and get a nice glue guy in green coming back
I di think the warriors may have to take back one other small contract.

Re: Sac and gsw
I think the Kings very much want to see Cousins and Patterson on the floor together. Green and getting out of Outlaw's small contract really isn't enough of an incentive to change that plan.

Re: Sac and gsw
So, is this deal made under the assumption that Landry isn't resigned? Is Patterson an upgrade over Landry? I don't think so. Or, why not just use Greene as a backup PF, since Rush will be back to get SF minutes? He may be undersized, but he'll get the job done.

Kings say no. We're not trading Patterson for garbage.

Re: Sac and gsw
Yes this is the assumption that landry isnt resigned and that patterson would be roughly half his cost but getting more than half landrys value
Green isnt garbage
Also figure that jt and cousins would continue to start

Further, this deal isn't even revenue neutral. The Kings are PAYING so they can take 2 scrubs (and giving up Patterson to boot).

kings are taking on a large contract this year, GSW should be sending out the incentive so that the kings will take on Jefferson's contract not the other way around.

Jefferson is an expiring, there's no reason to add value to dump him. On the flip side, horrible trade for Sacramento.

Re: Sac and gsw
GSW passes on this deal. Patterson isn't much of an inside presence and the W's can just use Barnes as a small ball PF with Green taking the other minutes while staying away from adding the useless Outlaw for an extra season.
Backup center is more of a need position for GSW anyway. With Ezeli out for quite a while the W's need to find more center depth before they address backup PF which is a position they already have partially covered in the first place.

there is when this trade will save you about 7 million this season. That additional saving is something that teams tend to have to pay for. It's not like the contracts swapped here are even close to the same amount. So yes Golden State would need to off an incentive for the kings to take on that much additional Salary.

As I said, crap trade for the kings. But from the other perspective, Jefferson isn't going to have an asset attached to his contract to move it,he IS an asset.

Re: Sac and gsw
jefferson's contract has value if you are trading it for a player that has a comparable sized contract with more years on it otherwise it's just eating up capspace for a player that is useless.
Jefferson is a useless expiring. To move his deal for capspace it will require an asset.
IF jefferson was a useful expiring then he might be worth a bit more. But as is he can't be relied upon to provide any useful production.
7 Million in pure capspace is worth quite a bit more than an expiring contract

Green became an important role guy late season and in the playoffs. Rookies seldom have impact on D or are very versatile...and...he adds some rbd ability, especially if at SF. Granted...Patterson does similar stuff but Patterson is quite a bit more $ now and for awhile, GSW wants 2014 cap space...loses some in this. Sac...on the other hand probably wants to exploit current cap $. It's not a "fit" either way in terms of cap use. GSW also likely would have more interest in a PF able to play some C minutes since Ezeli will be out till Christmas (maybe longer).
CENSORED... No comment.

Green's an excellent defender (defended Lebron ahit the game winner when we defeated Miami, a last second shot). Can guard 1, 2, 3 and 4. On a cheap deal as well. Outlaw is the one who's garbage and still has 2 years on his contract. Warriors areb't interested either.

Patterson is a guy the Kings want to move forward with. He has far more value to Sac than Green. Why are GS fans so eager to off their players after a great year?

First off most GSW fans don't like this deal. Second, Green isn't a core player although he's a versatile 8th man that provides hustle, D, rebouding and a high hoops IQ. Add those two things together and W's fans aren't eager to get rid of the team's players.
A deal GSW might seek to do with Sac would be something like:
Jefferson + 2nd round pick(s)
for
Hayes, Fredette and Aldrich
GSW gets a backup PF, a backup C and a backup combo guard. The W's only do a deal like this one if they strike out in their FA pursuits to fill holes at backup PG, PF and C.
Sac might do some version of this deal if they draft a guard that takes Fredette's minutes and they want out of Hayes' contract early. Sac would probably want a protected 1st round pick which might be negotiable.

Re: Sac and gsw
Ehh, not sure Jefferson's expiring is enough to make me want to let Jimmer go after 2 years. I'd like to see what he can do with a new coach and a defined role as a scoring guard. Hayes' deal isn't that bad. The trade isn't bad value wise. I would probably want a #1 as a Kings fan though.
I guess I was referring to some other posts on here by W's fans wanting to deal Thompson. As a Kings fan I'd take Klay in a heartbeat.
