Bobcats will make the 2014 playoffs

Post#1 » by MKGsMotor » Fri Jul 5, 2013 12:15 am

I know I'm gonna get some heat for this, but everyone with me jump on board! This can be turned into the official Bobcats postseason thread when it happens ;)

Would be great if it happened but I'm not so optimistic yet

I don't get why people don't understand that if this team made the playoffs it would be because Kemba, MKG, Biz all took big steps or Zeller was way better than we expected. Jeff is a decent player but its not like he is going to carry a franchise to the post season. He's at best 20% of our offense and 0% of our defense. If we make the post season that means some of our other guys became very legit two way players.

Would be great if we made the playoffs. Doubt we will, though.

Theirs enough smarter teams tanking this year so its possible. I wouldn't get used to it though if it happens to occur.

If any of you guys seriously are not rooting for this team to make the playoffs then you need to question your fandom. I for one will be hoping we win every game... screw the 2014 draft.

If we are making the playoffs then that means MKG, Kemba, and Zeller are having great seasons, Clifford is a good coach, and the fans will come pouring in right before the season we become the Hornets...

I am going to laugh when the team that lands the number one pick gets Wiggins and it takes them another 3 years to even sniff the 8 seed...

If this team is actually considering a playoff run (might as well try because I doubt we will get our top 10 protected pick this year) then we need to get an actual SG. Hendo is a fantastic six man but until he gets his 3 point shot down that's all he will ever be.

Exactly. I'm a fan of who's currently on the team not who might be on the team if some balls bounce the right way.

Go Cats. I'll be there for everything game and g06 d4amnit I hope we win every single game this year.

I agree mostly. I really like Hendo but I totally agree that he's limited as far as what he can do. OJ Mayo would be a great fit IF he wouldn't cause any problems. I'd love his versatility and ball handling next to Kemba...but I also don't wanna overpay for him. He get's the same stats as Hendo but again, he does it in a different way. I think he'd really help us out because of the way he does what he does.

I'm 100% behind resigning Hendo tho. No problem with that in my opinion...but if there's another option out there I don't see why we shouldn't go after him.

Even if we did everything right to target them (lose a whole bunch) and they panned out to meet their extremely high hype, we would only have, what, like a 50% chance of landing a pick that would get them? There's a whole lot of luck and chance involved in building through the draft. I am a fan of what we have got and where we're at as a team that rebuilt from the bottom. Why do we want to go to the playoffs? TO GO TO THE PLAYOFFS with a team that will still improve for the next few years.

Yeah me too I love the guy don't get me wrong. He has fantastic defense and his offense has improved so much over the last 4 years, but, like you said its limited. It makes the team weaker as a whole when a team knows Hendo won't take a three pointer and only shoots from about 2 select places. Having said that Hendo's Kobe-esk fader is very hard to guard. But to be an elite player in this game you need to be complete in all aspects. Hopefully Mark Price works with him a lot over the summer and he strengthens his 3-point game.

Jefferson is going to do WONDERS for Walker and MKG. Hell basically the entire team. No more 4 on 5 on offense. I'm stoked.

I know it's a bit early but it's really not out of the question. Let's think about it. The teams we can almost guarantee to be in the playoffs are: Heat, Pacers, Bulls, Nets, Knicks.

That leaves teams like the Hawks, Bucks, Cavs, Celts battling it out for those final spots. I can envision Charlotte getting in the mix. Not expecting anything, just want to see how it pans out.

I think this team should target the 6th seed in the EAST....

Heat, New York, Indiana, Brooklyn, Chicago are all pretty much shoe ins, but after that there is a lot of uncertainty.

I think we are honestly on par with the rest of the Eastern Conference since the signing of Big Al.

EDIT: Did not see the previous post, but just goes to show that we are on the same page.

Lets not forget all those other teams with maybe the exception of the Bucks are tanking this year.

Edit: That's why a lot of us are afraid of losing our 1st round pick and ultimately why I didn't like this Al Jefferson business. Now we're all on the same page.

You're right. Those teams are tanking and we would be better than them even without Jefferson. We've tanked for two freaking years. Time to start trying to win some ball games. Besides were young enough already. Biyombo, MKG, and Zeller can't even legally drink yet.

Yeah and adding Wiggins, Randle or Parker to the teams tanking is no guarantee they see the playoffs for the next three years. The other 6 teams that do not land one of them are going to be basically screwed, because WCS, Harrison brothers, Marcus Smart, James Young, and Robinson III are not franchise players.....

Return to Charlotte Hornets
