Clippers, Darren Collison agree to two-year deal

The Clippers and free-agent point guard Darren Collison agreed on a two-year contract Saturday, according to NBA executives who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter.

Collison will get the portion of the mid-level exception that the Clippers had left. His salary will be about $1.9 million for the 2013-14 season. He has an opt-out clause after his first season.

He can’t sign his contract until Wednesday, when the NBA lifts its moratorium.

If Collison is getting $1.9M this season, Barnes is getting about $3.25M. He sacrificed a couple hundred thousand to Collison. That's very classy on Matt's part.
