Re: Rank the East
Since Thibs goes all out in the regular season I could see Chicago finishing ahead of the Nets, but not because they're a better team (similar to how Chicago had the 1st seed in 11,12 despite Miami being the superior team)

The Bulls bench is worse than last season, D-Rose is a still unknown for 82 full games, Butler is still an unknown for to be a secondary go to scorer.
Granger may get traded at the deadline, their frontcourt is a bit thin also without Psycho T.

Re: Rank the East
Jimmy Butler isn't gonna be asked to be the secondary scorer, Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer will alternate in that role. Their bench is pretty much the same. They replaced Belinelli with Dunleavy who I think is the better player.
And Thibs is IMO a top 3 coach in the league and always manages to squeeze out every last bit of talent and effort from his teams. His only downside is that he keeps up that mentality even in blowouts/irrelevant games... which is why I think they could potentially finish ahead of the Nets (who'll look to rest 40% of the roster as much as they can).

Imo we're the 2nd best team in the East. It's up to the coaching staff if they'll downplay team standings and just prepare for the PO's...

Re: Rank the East
I actually think the Knicks could surprise some in the regular season mainly because of us
The pressure will be on them to keep up with us, or else.
I’m also not on the Bulls bandwagon like everyone else seems to be picking them as a title contender and a top 3 seed.
-We have no idea how Rose will look
-Their bench continues to get weaker (Nate, Belinelli, Hamilton gone, injury prone MDJr in)
-Deng, Noah and Boozer will continue to be played high minutes and wear out
-Ron Adams gone
-Team may look to shed salary as they are $8m over the tax

I don't buy into the Bulls at all, but I also don't buy into the Pacers. I think they are WAY OVERRATED. They still don't have any superstars on that team.

Re: Rank the East
Yeah, Pacers over us seems a stretch too.
We both won 49 games
We swept them 3-0
We added: KG, PP, JT, AK, Plumlee, Livingston, Coaches Kidd and Frank
We lost: Wallace, Hump, Bogans, Watson, Stackhouse, Brooks, PJC
They added: Granger, Copeland, Watson, S.Hill
They lost: Augustin, T.Hansbrough, Pendergraph, B.Shaw
I think we improved more than they did.

agreed. Pacers are the most overrated team i can think of in recent history. They get super hype because they matchup with and play miami well. outside of that, they are a hom-hum 4 seed type like the knicks. they are great when the play small teams, cause they have the team speed and a size advanage, but against teams with any kind of size, they usually dont look very good. case in point, we beat them all 3 times.
i can see them being as low as a 6 seed if things dont go there way and other teams improve and stay healthy(like the cavs)
and i really like paul george, but talk about overrated. you have people wanting to annoint him a top 10 -15 player, again, based on the miami series. 17/7/4 on 41% shooting 53% TS and a 16.8 PER. he does alot of things well, but he certainly isnt a top 15 player. i mean thats basically a better rebounding version of joe johnson numbers wise

Re: Rank the East
Well I actually think George is pretty close to being a top 15 player, if not there already. His offensive numbers don't look great, but he's decent enough offensively and his perimeter defense is "best in the league"-caliber.
He can handle the ball, he can shoot, he's not a great passer from a technical standpoint but he's not selfish and he's certainly willing to pass the ball, he can attack the rim, he can finish. He's way too reliant on the 3-ball right now and so isn't that good of an offensive player yet, but he's got the skills. And his defense is really, really good. Add that all up, and you have a guy that certainly has a case for being top 15. I agree he's overrated once he's put in top 10s or even top 5s, but top 15 isn't too much of a stretch.

his offense isnt really decent. he doesnt score much, and the scoring he does do is really inefficient. he also turns the ball over a ton and doesnt get to the FT line. Defensively, sure, he is all-nba calibur. but his offense is really mediocure, and nowhere approaching enough to make him top 15. i mean, JR smith was better offensively last year.
17 points on 15 shots per game and 3 turnovers isnt really anything to consider you a top guy, even if you play outstanding defense
He can handle the ball, he can shoot
only he doesnt handle the ball well. he turns it over 3 times a game. and he cant really shoot. 41%/35%/80% isnt really shooting the ball well. neither is .530 TS% any good.
he can attack the rim, he can finish.
he is incredibly athletic, but he doesnt really finish as high as you'd expect, and doesnt get to the FT line much

his defense is outstanding, but his offense is so mediocure you cant consider him top 15. maybe 20-25. even then you can argue he doesnt belong.

I more think you underrate them as you thought Atlanta and NY should have beaten them.
knicks in 4 or 5 games, with at least 1 monster blowout.
although, i dont think the pacers will make it to the second round.
You kept calling them a fraud all season, but I don't think a fraud would have taken Miami to game 7 of the ECF after comfortably dismissing the Knicks and Hawks.

I think we will be 4th because we are an old team and small injuries will bother us and also minute restrictions but I believe come playoff time we will make the ecf and take the heat to 7 games, Idk who would win game 7
