Yankees Looked Into Rios Before Acquiring Soriano

The New York Yankees checked with the Chicago White Sox about Alex Rios before they began serious talks with the Chicago Cubs about Alfonso Soriano.

New York was told Rios wouldn't waive his no-trade clause, so they moved onto Soriano.
