The Detroit Tigers have unconditionally released Jose Valverde, ending his second tenure with the organization.
Valverde saved 110 games for Detroit from 2010-12, but was not tendered a contract following last season. He eventually re-signed with the club as a free agent on April 4.
In 20 appearances, Valverde posted a 5.59 ERA over 19 1/3 innings while going 9-for-12 in save opportunities.
