Post#1 » by Robertchk » Thu Aug 8, 2013 7:19 pm

What games are worth driving up to see from Chicago this upcoming season outside the Heat and Bulls games?

Thank you!

you bought full season tickets and only expect to come to a handful of games? maybe you are giving the rest to customers. if not, I would have thought you'd gone for a package of just weekend games if possible. oh, well. I'd pencil in all the Saturday games and look for a reasonably priced motel in walking distance of the fieldhouse. some of the early season Saturday games might have Colts games the next day. scalping is legal here so you can buy tickets on the street.

San Antonio?

Does Detroit or Cleveland draw a large crowd?

They have added some stars to their rosters so it might be worth while to come and watch them to!!

Hibbert vs Bynum and Hibbert vs Drummond could be exciting to see, especially late in the season!

General rule of thumb is that the Pacers only sell out during opening night, and when the Bulls, Heat or Lakers are in town. And probably from the second round on in the playoffs (I know they didn't sell out all of the Atlanta games).

When teams like the Cavs, Raptors and Wiz come to town, that's when you can snag balcony seats for sometimes, literally, about a dollar (I got balcony seats for the Bulls last year for $6.50). I don't know why people just don't get into the Pacers around here. Despite being one game away from the Finals last year, I want to say in the last two years, they've only increased season ticket sales by about 2,300 or so. That, it itself isn't bad, but they are constantly near the bottom of the league in attendance.

It's a shame, too, as the Field House is awesome.

I think it's a bit more of the desire to see a semblance of continued success, and not just a win half the games for a year and demand we buy tickets mentality.

I think this year should be more indicative of ticket sales going forward. We tasted a lot of success the last 2 years, and are continuing to build on it. That should bode well for ticket sales as opposed to a question mark that we have been lately going into seasons.

Personally, I feel the league has not been this competitive in many years... when is the last time we were able to witness over 8 teams having a REAL shot at the title (OKC, SA, CHGO, MIA, IND, HOU, LAC, GS)! This goes without throwing in NY, and BK!

I predicted the highest ratings in a long time for the NBA this season... this will draw fans out of the seats and into Indiana, the price per seat is just too good to pass up if you live in Cleveland, Detroit, and Chicago, with Cleveland and Detroit fighting for a playoff spot.... empty or at capacity, my friends and I are coming from Chicago and enjoying the Pacers as NBA fans, not just Bulls fans.

Now that is more like it. Glad to have you and more people like you with great attitude who has love of the NBA game. The field house is a great venue. I myself am looking forward to some Pacers Bulls rivalry games. Will be fun to watch. Spoke with my Pacer Tix Rep and they are still selling season pkgs. and that's great. I look for more Pacers fans filling more sits. We have great seats in lower section. Bring it on.....please.

I would think the 1200 number released a few weeks ago has increases and will continue too as the season nears.

I'm not in the Indy market. What's the advertising campaign look like. Is it fully pervasive around town, or are they just selling on word of mouth?

I haven't really seen anything. Though, I generally do not watch Fox Sports Indiana unless I'm watching basketball, which is probably where the majority of commercial would be. I haven't seen any billboards, yet, or anything, either.

During the season, there are a ton of Pacers billboards around. There's a digital one by the fairgrounds, which has more than just the Pacers rotating in with the other ads, but when the Pacers spots come up they are cool because they will either be a score recap of the last game (if the Pacers won, that is) or, more often, an ad for an upcoming game with one of the Pacers' faces (usually George, Hibbert or West) and the main star from the opposing team. As a Bulls fan, it was pretty amusing to see Joakim Noah's face on a billboard here.

Anyway, I haven't been out that way in awhile, so many they are running ads on that billboard now.

The Pacers are one of very few NBA teams not yet releasing a presale date, they MUST be selling a bunch of packages still.

Ranked at the #1 bang for your buck by ESPN in SPORTS!

it's announced. I got an email this week saying individual game tickets may now be ordered by package holders in a pre-sale before public sale begins next week. I think the public start is the 2nd.

Just wanted to tell everyone on this thread thank you for the advice you have given, those who were saying "now why would you buy season tickets in indy when you live in Chicago?" are now saying "dont you have Pacers season tickets?"

sales on stubhub are going great, but i am still trying to connect with fans to deal with directly so they can get a better price.
