Yanks (63-58) @ Boston (72-52): too little, too late?
Yanks gave the RedSawx a shellacking last night. They are 6 games behind the second wild card, which might as well be first place. Can they make up the difference? They're going to have to be near perfect down the stretch as need some help.

Overbay's STUPID throw to Cano when he should have gone home killed me. Talk about a meat head. Let's say, he had a chance at second (when he didn't) that throw was atrocious.
Visions of the 2004 Yankee team that would bash a ton of runs in stretches and then conk out against more competitive teams. You knew Kuroda can't be perfect forever and the Yankee big guns fell silent against Jim "Bean" Lackey.
Tonight, the traditionally underachieving Wells sits out. I like the balance towards the top. Even if the Yanks win tonight, that's still just one game on the totem pole. A lot of ground to cover and too little too late.
Pretty much Cashman is trying to pull a Donnie Walsh. He has Wells and Soriano on the cheap. He's hoping he can package any of those guys and one of their surplus of pen guys for a decent prospect. It's too bad that's not happening the rules have changed. It's all about the farm.
I'm sorry Bob Watson and "Stick" were the architects of the core. Since then the Yanks have been unable to draft or sign anyone from the expansion or international.
Kuroda, Cano are free agents...better open up the wallet AGAIN.

So Cashman, care to comment on CC's extension since you don't feel comfortable talking about A-Rod? Ok, how's Pineda? Is he EVER going to pitch this season?

Looks like the Sawx are teeing off CC.

Great offensive rally. Give the devil his due, A-Rod hits a homer after getting plunked.
Be a long time before Red Sawx fans cheer a Yankee at Fenway.
